It's either (1) a scam, or (2) something is SERIOUSLY wrong with it. Since it has an automatic transmission, I'll bet that's the problem. That's crazy cheap.

If the transmission is toast, I wonder how much a manual transmission swap would cost? It would be so cool to have a manual e31.

I think it would probably be very easy, since none of the parts used are specific only to the 8-Series.

It'll require a 6-speed, which is a lot harder (and more expen$ive) than a 5sp.

That one Matt posted is a lot closer to the going rate for E31s. They look extremely cool, but they suffer in the handling department. Not BMWs finest suspension design by a long shot.

Isn't it just the same 6-speed that came in all the manual 540s (and M5)?

I think that and some of the E32 7 series, but I'm not too sure.

I didn't think you could get an E32 7-Series with a 6-speed manual trans. Or if you could at all, probably not in the US.

Re: Craigslist Finds Thread

Won't take less than 5500, but it's 10 min from me and pretty. Don't think it's worth that though.

Ahh, you're probably right.

The only reason I knew about that was because I was looking to pick up an E31 with a blown transmission that was for sale around here. When I was pricing parts it said the Getrag tranny could fit in the 7 series; just assumed they offered the 7 with a six-speed.

Haha! For some reason it reminds me of this guy (also Denver) who's selling his car with pictures of girls washing it, in the ad.
