Ordering new X3 ?

Well, our family has grown +1 so 328i has to go. I called few dealership and every dealers said almost same thing, end of January or middle February delivery. Few told me they'll receive 3-5 "demo" model in December but reluctant to sell or don't know what specification. They told me it might include all available packages.

How's cargo space & back seat for X3? we'll have double stroller, 1 baby car seat + 1 regular car seat ( soon to be booster). No need for long distance since we have Odyssey for that but just for quick shopping mall or to day care.

We prefer to have them before my wife goes back to work which will be January. I did test drive 2010 X3 & 2010/11 Q5. I love Q5 but my wife wants to stay with BMW so we'll give a wait. Anybody compares between Q5 & new X3 ?

Thank you.

Check out the cargo room of the current X3, and then add a bit more width and length. The overall dimensions of the new X3 are within a whisker of the E53 X5.

Hi,

Congrats on the new addition.

It sounds like you'll have 2 kids. I think the X3 will be good for 2-3 kids until they reach 14 or so and with the new size it might even be OK beyond that. As far as the stoller, you can buy it now, take it in and test it on a current X3. If it fits or almost fits, you are good.

Your wife is wise to keep at least one BMW in the family. To me it adds a little prestige. To me BMW, Mercedes, Porsche, Land Rover and Lexus earn a tier one respect over others who are just as good (e.g. Audi, Infinity, Jeep, Acura, etc). It's just the way it is. There will be some like me who are more impressed with these brands than the more open thinker who gives more thought to the quality or price of each individual car...me...I don't care.

Today I saw a dirty Jeep Cherokee and I didn't think for a second anything prestigious about it. It made me think of this thread with the "X3 or the Jeep Cherokee" on this site and I laughed... special or human. There are many cars which are more expensive than these luxury brands (many) but I don't praise someone for spending a lot on a car. I just have a certain respect for luxury brands. That's me.

Internally, I'd give your family a more respected smile coming out of the BMW than an Audi but externally I'd be PC. Wise wife...
