Tax return on cancelled warranty

I cancelled my tire/wheel warranty and got 100% refund but not the tax. (texas)

Is there a law/rule in which the tax can't be returned once you cancel the warranty? It's only around 150 but still....is the dealer a crook?

Sales tax laws vary by State. Best thing to do is to contact the State tax department with the question, or check out their website to see if they have an FAQ that covers it.
