LA Auto Show...Black

Here is the black one from the LA auto show. My opinion hasn't changed about this color. It looks brilliant from the front but too "chubby from side and back because of no obvious slimming black line (blends).

The black is nice, although I respectfully disagree about the "slimming" effect of the black trim on light colored models. It sort of looks like cheap black plastic or rubber to me. That's one of the reasons I prefer the darker colors.

If I were to choose a light-colored X3, I'd wait for the M-Sport package with the body-colored plastic bits.

EDIT: BTW, thanks for the pic, loving the black color.

This year's show was notable for the dearth of diesels! I believe only BMW had diesels there, an X5 and the 3-series neither one was showcased, just "there" as some reported.

Not even. The new Eaos was there but with no diesel option. Very surprising from VW which has a big drum to beat with their V6 TDi T-egg, which is probably the most inexpensive diesel SUV/SAV out there for us.

I like the front of the black. From the side, i think it hides some of the new contours because it is low on shadows. Finally the side back looks "chubby". This is one reason I don't like the M model. It looks so fat in the back.

Take a look at this:

Does this not look chubby? I think it does. It is LESS sleek and slimming.

I don't know how tall that last guy is but the rear legroom did not look impressive. Meanwhile the trunk looked bigger. I'm still annoyed with the bigger trunk and no sliding rear seats. Just give the option. The X1 has it.
