hard to say for sure, sometimes they are available for ED in July, but most often, October. Since this year was the first MY, it depends what changes they're planning to make. You have pleanty of time though to get better info

It is likely that you will miss it. Early August delivery cars are manufactured in July.

Post September models are also showing the "spooky steering" issues?

I'll be ready to purchase after first quarter of '11 and I'm wondering if I should hold off until the 2012 model. :/
It seems hard enough waiting right now just until the first quarter!

I drove a post-September 2010 F10 for 4 days. The steering issues were fixed. The steering was spot on, including going straight.

2011 MY build past 9/10.

interestingly enough, when you go on tire rack and look up tires for the car, it asks whether it was built pre- or post- 9/10.

Yes, Tire Rack asks if your 535i Sport is pre or post 9/10, but the RFT choices (including OE) are the same whether you pick pre or post. curious...

For ***** and giggles I selected the same on the 550...and it did the same question with the same tires.

The differences are for the the tire pressure monitors. Post 9/10 have a different TPM.

The model year is 2011. Changes were implemented with start of production 09/2010.

Pharding, nice catch. Is there an exhaustive list of changes and improvements post 9/10?

Also waiting. I read somewhere September was most likely. I also read the new 3 may be introduced late this year. I would like to see that car as I belive that BMW's shift in the design of the 5 should yield a 3 series closer to the E60 in size and performance. Many arguments here on the forum over the shift in the 5 towards the 7. It seems that the 1 series is positioned to be the new choice for the former 3. The introduction of the 1 M with the fanfare would seem to support this theory.

I'm planning to do an October ED, and will stipulate with the local dealer that I get a 2012 model, or else no deal.

2012 MY 5 Seriies

I'm planning a trip to Europe in mid Sept of this year. While inquiring about a ED on a new 535i, I was advised that the 2012 MY will be released in mid October.

I was going to purchase a 2011 very soon, especially since my warranty and maintenance expire this march ( one month )-BUT all things considered I am going to wait until the 2012's come out in September of 2011-

I'll go without a warranty for six months, they cost $3500- I'll put that towards the 2012
