Angry 2008 750LI Navigation Display

Hi Folks - I am having issues with my navigation display screen, I need help from you guys. I am not able to set the GPS screen to be displayed in full screen mode, what ever changes I do it still displays only in half screen and the other half screen is displaying other info like travel time...etc.

Could anyone guide me the step up instructions to get the full screen mode?

Thanks
Nav

Yes u can get full screen for 06 and 08. On the navi menu DESELECT the Split screen n that will give u full screen.

rubbish, pure rubbish (LOL)...at least on '06's the act of "deselecting" the split screen simply removes the information that had been (previously) shown on the right-hand side of the display. so far, I have not found any way to extend the NAVI screen other than on EITHER the left or the (smaller) right-hand side of the "full" screen. I believe that you have to get an F01 in order to get the display to encompass the ENTIRE display.

I have (forever) wondered what type of powerful psychotic drugs the yutz's that designed the BMW navigation were under at the time of it's development. The split screen "could have been" a good move if ONLY they had put the things you ACTUALLY WANTED into the split window (like the phone interface or the radio) but guess which two interfaces you can NOT set as a "split scree"...yep, you got it. And don't even get me started on how you have to look up addresses in that thing...NIGHTMARE!

Ive actually seen a split screen nav on this car with both screens showing the navigation maps simultaneously...To see this you can go to CNET.COM for the video review of this car and you will see what im talking about. I have never been able to get both screens to show the nav maps in my car tho

Are you sure what you saw was a E65 or E66?

Here is the entire library of CNET video review of BMW: link Which one did you see?

Even BMW tech (in Arlington TX) confirmed with me that there is no such nav FULL SCREEN in E65/E66.

Those close-ups were spliced in. Take a look at the NAV when it pans back out to him talking.

Different question, same topic...how do I swap the split screens? In other words whenever I split with Nav its always on the right, smaller screen. Can I have my Nav on the left larger screen and radio stations on the right? Have not been able to figure out how to do this...

Only some things can show up in the little screen on the right. When in the menu (i.e. for radio or nav) you will see an option called "split". Click on that and whatever area you are in (i.e. radio, nav) will show up on the right side. Very obtuse, but thats how to do it. So yes, you can get NAV to show up on both screens, but it will be the same thing x2, NOT one big map/nav screen.
In many ways, I like the idrive, but there are a few really stupid things that offset almost all of the awesomeness. I.e. the inability to do full screen anything, the fact that when I restart the car my sat radio does NOT go back to the "now playing" station, ...and I could go on.....

I could have sworn I had full screen when I bought the car but now only get it on the left after selecting the split screen once, but I could be hallucinating...

In the car now...if I split the Nav it is only on the right and left in Nav mode is Nav menus, even in Route Guide mode.

I must say this nav sucks. On my 2010 Audi I have pretty close to the same screen size and the entire screen is the map.
