Your reply is appreciated, however I had already spoken with a friendly Dinan rep. I posted to this thread in an attempt to receive real world results and/or opinions.

Other than that i'd be curious if anyone has any input on RIMS. I would love to get HRE's, but i don't feel like spending $5K plus on wheels. Anyone have any experience with any good rims that aren't too flashy and don't break the bank. I also don't want to take away from my ride by buying cheap phony rims. I'm currently thinking about buying a set of repo X6M 300M 20 inch rims as a winter set (see bottom two pics attached 1 pic is the wheel the other pic is of a mounted application for the repo from another BMW forum member) and then use them for the next 5 months for ski season (put on snow tires 275/40/20's all around) and then perhaps sell my current 333M OEM 20 inch wheels (on the car now) and upgrade to something nicer for my full time summer set post April 2011. Anyone have any input? You think i should go black? I'm not interested in blacking out the rear tail lights as i think that is overkill.

Other mods to date include:
Black painted reflectors
Black painted OEM grill inserts
Dinan pedal set
Dinan free flow exhaust with black ceramic tips
Dinan stage 1 engine software kit and boost kit

My current 333M rims are not painted charcoal btw, that is just brake dust, car is filthy right now as its been raining a ton in nor cal

Hello. Great setup on your X5! Looks very aggressive! I too have a 2011 X5 50i and I am thinking about getting the Dinan performance upgrade. I wanted to get feedback from owners who have had it done and have drove thier X5's for a while and if they have had any issues with their vehicles. Are their any downsides, besides lower MPG and speeding tickets, if you do get the upgrade? I mean with the engine, turbo, etc. if it is poperly maintained and not beat to hell! Also do you notice an increase in the rev limit in each gear? Any feedback would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

I had the Dinan software installed about a month ago (at around 12,000 miles on the odometer).

It feels a little better off the line (this was most important to me). For everything else, it is very strong all the way beyond "go straight to jail" speeds.

The transmission is still jerky (which I hate) in stop-n-go traffic < 30mph.

As for MPG, my average of 18-19 hasn't changed at all.

Would I have the software installed again? Probably (keeping in mind we're talking about a fat SUV, not a race car).

Bro, you have no idea how excited you just got me. If I ever bought an X5, it would be that exact spec with dinan.

Oh to only be a student still and ogle at cars I can't afford yet lol.....

I didn't read the rest of the thread but I was thinking you could get the dinan intake as well.
