Your most probably right. I should get that package at least to get the other features I want. I'm with DFAIT in Berlin, hence dip/military sale. I have just been told that dip/military sales package may only include 2 years warrenty but the sales rep in Canada is checking into that. I think that would be something new from past years.

Well, the way it worked when we brought back a '91 Jetta in Canada, via military sale back in the days, the waranty was the one from VW of Germany, when in Germany, but once we moved back to Canada, the diffenrence that was left on VW of Canada warranty, we got it.

If you only get the 2years warranty(which I would be very surprised), maybe you could buy the extended warranty?

I was told the same by the BMW dip sales rep here but Ottawa dealer still confirming. It's one of the main reasons I choose BMW. We'll see. I will definitely purchase the extended warrenty , irrelevant of the time limit of the warrenty. It's a good reselling feature. Note that I tried to getting pricing from VW for a Canadian spec Tiguan or Toureg but they have stopped the Canadian Home delivery program. Basically no more overseas delivery, or discounted prices , for dips / military through them.

Did Audi stopped it also?? The Q5 is one nice machine!! So is the Volvo XC60R......

Audi still does overseas delivery and caters the dip/military crowd. I put a request in with Audi International and they forwarded the request to Audi Canada. They haven't answered yet so I'm still waiting for them to get back to me. After seeing some videos about the Audi Quattro system, I don't think I'd go for the Audi. Q5 doesn't seem to have real time AWD and I need a real time 4WD for "those" winter days. I recieved Volvo price list last week for the 2011's. The dip/military price for a base model XC60 is ~38.5 , about 10 % under MSRP. The R will run into mid 40's . You can get the same from a dealer. I think the Bimmer is the best bank for the buck at this point.

Dont get fooled by those video's, it doesn't represent the real world situation, Audi is actually a real time AWD, which uses Torsen system(like Subaru). BMW uses Haldex, which is a ''on demand'' AWD system. Both are good, they just work differently.

We had a good conversation on that topic about it: http://www.bimmerfest.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=495255

I love my X-drive, but I would drive an Audi anytime on our very hard winter we get here

Volvo also offers overseas delivery. The one you want to look at is the TXC60R with the turbo 300 hp inline 6 (like guess who).

Just got word that my car went into production today. Not sure how long it will take from here, but at least I know it's on it's way!

I would say that is not even close to the 7-10 days they originally promised from the new plant.

I am ordering directly from BMW in Berlin (not a dealer) while living in Germany and taking delivery of a Canadian model. I've been told that a good part of the production of the X3 is headed for China and the new plant is backlogged with orders. I'm hoping they are wrong but let's see.

Although we ordered two 28 x3's this weekend, I have to admit the AT is not as smooth on the 28 as the 35. (My wife won out on not getting the 35's.) That being said, it seems much smoother than the first generation and more importantly, the ride is massively improved.

Car is FINALLY done. It's at the prep center awaiting transport to Portland. Probably too much to hope for a next week delivery though. But to be honest, I have no idea how long it usually takes from SC. My dealership, as usual, is absolutely no help.

Why you stuck with this dealer is beyond me. From what you have posted they have been horrible from day one.

I really hope you never need service on this vehicle other than the standard maintenance.

I would have never tolerated this poor customer service.

I believe Marc stayed with this store because he got such a great deal (he stated earlier it was $500 over dealer cost) on the brand new model and early release! You can put up with a lot when you are getting such a great deal IMHO. Since the service center and sales are two seperate things they might do a great job on service you never know. If not there are probably one or two others up there within easy driving to use.

They were to only dealership in the area that was able to match Zag/Amex pricing. I didn't know how bad they were until after the car had already been ordered. Trust me, I was tempted to cancel my order and go with someone else more than a few times. But I can't wait another 2-3 months just because I'm annoyed with my CA.

I'll never go to these guys for service. My local dealership has a great service dept.

You have 3 choices on the 28 in Canada, 1. Satin silver mat(standard) 2. Fineline sienna wood(585$ option), 3. Wave brown wood(585$ option)

Once your on the ''interior'' trim on the config, click on ''TRIMS'' just beside ''UPHOLSTERY'', you will see it

My car got off the train in CA today. So it should be here within the next couple of days. I'm pretty stoked right now. Can't wait to pick it up!

UPDATE:
My car is actually AT the dealership today. Pretty awesome. Too bad we're about to get hit by a snow storm. Might have to wait a few days to go pick her up.
