Pro nav playlist
Anyone know if there is a way to get music stored on the HDD to play continuously? I've imported a couple of CD's for now, but it kyats repeats one CD round and round. The only way I can get it to change to another CD is to manually select a different one. Anyone know a way around this or a way to create a playlist?

Not entirely sure but I think you first select "New Search", then "All Tracks". That should play all tracks stored. If you then want to play them at random, push the options button and select Random.

You can import a "music collection" via the USB port in the glove compartment (not the one on the console if you have USB/iPod adapter). Move any music you want to a thumb drive, then import. You cannot upload directly from an iPod. The manual tells how to do this. Via iDrive, like CD/Multimedia, find the Import screen, etc.

Thanks guys. The 'search all' suggestion might well be the answer I was looking for! I'll try that tomorrow. Mark - I guess that folders on a USB stick will appear as separate collections (like separate CD's)? Not tried that yet but imagine the search all would apply to that too?
Generally really impressed with the pro nav. The POI function for restaurants is very useful when on business trips in particular. The categories are fairly comprehensive. I'm sure you can import POI's if you mess around, but the 'clag on' tom-tom type devices are useless in that regard. |

I just copy and paste the iTunes Media Music folder over to the thumb drive; it imported fine and played all the tracks. |

While you are in the music collection screen, press the options button.
You can then select 'random' - which on my IPOD then plays all the tracks ( randomly )I haven't found a way to get them to play everything in order.

Yeah - seems like a bit of an omission that! I just want it to play in artist order or whatever. The system seems great, but this one thing is getting at me!

It seems to put them in alphabetical order by track name. Apparently my iTunes tracks have an "invisible" 01, 02, etc. in front of the track name. I have noticed that iTune tracks are sorted within these 01, 02 groupings, then by song name alphabet. I converted my old MusicMatch tracks to mp3, those are named starting with the artist name so they are grouped in that order in my overall music collection. I kind of liked the randomness of the iTunes groups so my music didn't always play in the same order. I wish the "random" setting on the music collection would "stick" between playings -- you have to re-check that box every time you start up the car (don't remember if it sticks between audio source changes, but I think so).
