Hey Jon, is there going to be a special section for E30 M3's? This year is the 25th anniversary of the M3 and I think it would be nice to pay tribute to it.

Your story was one of the best Bimmerfest stories ever.

If I can somehow convince my wife to let me go again in the future I would have to drive one of my other cars, the baur about killed me, I really needed cruise control a softer suspention and a/c....

On the other hand the stoptech brakes I won from the raffle paid for my trip. I finally got around to selling them last week. If I could guaruntee I would win a big raffle prize every year maybe she would let me go....We bought a new house 2 months ago so there was less than a zero percent chance of a repeat trip.

For me the trek to get there, and hanging out with fellow E-21 people across the country on the way there and the way back was just as much fun as the show. I had places to stay and even a driveway to clean Canada off my car, I would do this every year if I had 3 weeks of vacation $2000 extra dollars and a Imported Mother in Law to help my wife with the kidos every year....

On a side note Universal studios filmed a movie here in Anchorage last October called "Everbody Loves Whales" with Drew Barrymore, Ted Danson, Vinessa Shaw, Dermont Mulrooney and tons of other people the movie takes place in 1988, so the baur was used as a background car in 4 scenes, so when the movie comes out I might have 20 seconds of international background parked car fame (the exhaust was too loud to be used as a driving car grr...)....One day I was even drafted as an extra and I got to freeze to death and walk down the sidewalk over and over for about 5 hours for a 2 minute scene....The movie is suposed to come out in Jan 2012.

We usually get a good collection of E30 M3s, but I would probably like to include all M3s. One interesting observation I've had is the steadily declining number of E36 M3s registering over the years. So many of these cars have left the streets to become track cars, that plus accidents I suppose..

Pardon my newbness. I'm not super new to bimmer, bought my 03 325i in 06 and bought a '11 328i in november, but can someone clue me in on bimmerfest? The website doesn't really say much about "What" it is. Is it basically just a big car show with vendors? Is there pics from last years event? Etc Etc

Just picked up my first Bimmer a few weeks ago (02 E46 325i, 5spd, steel grey) and I've already talked the girlfriend into coming to Bimmerfest this year. Looking forward to meeting everyone and checking out all there is to see!
