Behr Blower Motor - removing squirrel cages
Hello everyone,
Is it possible to remove the squirrel cages from an older blower motor, and use them on a replacement motor? It seems from looking around (partsgeek.com), that the bosch motor (shown without the cages) is way much cheaper than the whole assembly. Thanks, Craig |

Hello everyone,
Thought I would give an update. I used the attached method of removing the cages and it worked liked a charm. Re-installed the assembly and it works great. The biggest thing to watch is making sure that the cages are positioned on the shafts (I took note of where they were on the old assembly) correctly. Saved a bunch of money too. Motor new ~$70 bucks and reuse cages. Otherwise the whole assembly new would have been ~$200. |
