A couple of angles to tackle from: 1. Audis are famous for their Check Engine Lights. It's been said that if your CEL isn't on, you're not driving an Audi. 2. I recently read in an auto magazine that "advertising is the price companies pay for being unoriginal." I see a lot more Audi commercials than I do for BMW.

And the idea that all Audi owners secretly want a BMW is true.

If I were in your position though, I'd take the high road and not degrade myself to her level. You cannot pull yourself up by putting others down.

I will have to do a little intel on this. My sis, years ago drove a 528 till all the lights on the dashboard were lit up like a Christmas tree. She now, last time I checked, drives an A4. Without causing WWIII at the Christmas dinner table I might have to check this out.

I used to have an Audi. I took it everywhere but it had LoJack and the damn cops kept returning it to me.

When I used to have an Audi as my daily driver I had the perfect second car. A tow truck.

I stuck up for Audi the other day. Someone on an internet forum posted that everyone hates driving Audis. I told him that was ridiculous, not everyone has driven one. yet.

If somebody was disrespecting you b/c you drive a BMW, they are a tool. I wouldn't stoop to their level and worry about a comeback. Take the high road. Am I proud to be an Audio owner. Yes. But I felt equally as proud of my 330i. But in the end, both are just material possessions, so it really doesn't matter anyway. All this BMW vs. Audi banter is pointless. Reminds me of Mac vs. PC, or the way people bicker about sports.

It drives me nuts when people say, "we kicked your ass 45-10!" Huh? I'm sorry, I didn't see you out of the field wearing a helmet and pads. What's all this "we" talk. All these fans did was sit on their fat ass in front of the TV and yell at the refs. Same goes for cars. "Our cars are better than yours." WFT? Last time I checked, most people are not the engineers that designed them, nor the artists that came up with the styling. Don't know about the rest of you, but all I did was show up at the dealer and write a check. Not quite something to beat my chest about.
