Knocking Noise from Drive Shaft

Hey all, this would be my first post, and my first BMW. I've got the 2008 X5 4.8 and while driving in rain yesterday I went through a puddle in the road, which turned out to be a bit deeper than it seemed but nothing that should cause damage. Immediately after I noticed a knocking noise that is right in time with the revolution of the drive shaft. It almost sounds as though something came loose and is rubbing against the shaft near the joint. In addition for whatever reason after this my right fog light now stays on all the time. Since its still under warranty I've called the dealer to get it in so they can inspect it and hopefully this is something that will be covered under the warranty. Any advice would be greatly appreciated or if anyone has experienced something similar maybe you can tell me what might be the cause/solution.
