oil filter location?
My daughter has a 2006 mini, not an "s". Is the oil filter located on the pax side on the rear of the engine? i saw a utube vidio on a 2008 they said it sas located under the windshild washer resevoir. However my daughters is a 2006 not 2008.
Also how do you reset the oil service milage. Again i saw a utube vidio but it was a newer mini. My daughter has just the basic mini model, only 1 button on her speedometer not 2 like the newer models. thanks |

First thing is to be certain if your car is 1st Generation (R50) or 2nd Generation (R56). Model Year 2006 was the last of the R50s. R56 MINIs start with model year 2007.
The R50 and R56 have similar looks but are completely different cars. The R50s use a engine supplied by Chrysler. R56s use a Peugeot/Citroen - BMW joint venture engine built by BMW. If you are talking about model year 2006, the car is an R50. We own an R56. I don't have any personal experience with your car but Google found a DIY to reset the service indicator: http://www.mini2.com/forum/faq.php?f..._faq_reset_cpu Google also found two DIYs on how to change the oil. Both have photos of the filter housing. Might be enough to help you find it. http://www.lonestarminiclub.com/foru...read.php?t=411 http://www.totalmini.com/forum/104-d...hange-diy.html Last edited by Andrew*Debbie; 12-23-2010 at 01:25 PM. |
