Buying advice please!

Hi,

I just returned my 2007 E92 (Euro delivery) and am looking for a new daily driver. I like E30s and found this sweet little car on Ebay (http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/BMW-3...item3363a97c0e). The buy it now price is $14K. While it looks like it's in great condition and low miles, this seems high to me. What would be a fair price for this car? I think $8,500, but possibly up to $10K. Thoughts? Thanks.

Oh...my...god...14k? thats like...11k-12k over priced. if you got that money to blow on a car thats extremely overpriced go buy an e46 m3. no e30 is worth that much except an e30 m3.

Your perception of $14k being high is correct. Even $8500 is way too much. Roughly half that would be a good price for it considering mileage and maintenance.

was the maintenance on everything but the motor? (besides timing belt) look at the condition of the motor. dirty as all hell.

The seller seems super shady: Bad grammar / spelling, zero feedback, and an eBay member since last Wednesday

Wowzers! That's a heafty price!

If you are on a hunt for a clean cabrio, a local here is thinking of selling his 1992 MTechII alpine auto vert with just over 100k miles. He bought the car new off the lot in '92 and is hunting a slick top coupe. He said he will take $7k for it, everything works and is in MINT condition. Hit me up privately for pics and more info.

I also have an 87 Bronzit sedan another friend is selling, absolutely mint, everything works 100% manual car, only bad part is it's an eta. He would probably take $2500 for it.

What makes people selling e30's on evilbay think they are worth so much? Most I have ever seen anyone pay for an e30 was a really nice s52, 6 speed with fresh interior, fresh paint, nice wheels etc, he handed over $12k, but was worth every penny with how clean the whole car was put together - everything looked/worked perfect and runs like a scolded dog.

I gladly paid $3400 ~3yrs ago for my es in the same condition, less miles. Everything is perfect right down to the tools in the trunk, all functional windows, lights, A/C, power steering etc etc. $2500 for a Florida, rust free, and mint e30 isn't bad imo.

EDIT: Even if it is an eta...

Thanks for the feedback guys. I guess I'll keep looking. I thought E30s were more expensive - I guess I thought the seemingly low mileage commanded a premium. Thanks.

Do you mean roughly half of the 8500 is a good price? I think the bidding is up to 4500 already.

Man, I balked at my friend's 92 mtII vert for what he is asking. Super nice car, but I like to mod my cars and would feel bad if a clean OEM example was hacked up :/

i cant stand to see a clean, stock e30 destroyed. thats why i chose to restore my IS rather then lower and modify it like id usually do. somethign about ruining a car that has lasted so long doesnt ssit well with me.
