07 M6 CV out of warranty 5/11...sell or keep?

I've got a 07 M6 convertible that I've had since new and has only 8500 miles on it. Its my primary car when I'm home, but admittedly I don't drive all that much and it does sit for 5 months out of the year.

I'm just wondering if I should keep it or sell it before the warranty runs out. I do love the car, and have had no problems with it up to now. But with the high strung drive train and extensive electronics, I'm a bit leery of keeping it due to what costs could be involved after the 4/50 runs out.

I thought that BMW had come out with an extended warranty for V10 M's, but admittedly I know nothing about it and if its applicable to me anymore or worth it in the first place.

Any thoughts???

Thanks!

Bmw has a extended warranty

I have a 2007 M6 cab and obtained the extended/Certified warranty on the vehicle for 2 yrs or additional 50,000 miles which ever first occurs. I would look into it, and if you like the car keep it.. they aren't going to make this version in a year or so.... it will be a classic super car...

I have an `08 M6 convertible with 23K on the odometer and, as much as I love this car, I would not consider owning it without warranty protection. It's not that anything major has gone wrong; frankly other than new tyres ($2K) this car has been virtually problem-free. However, I also know that maintenance and repair costs for the M6 can be so significant as to cause me to quickly fall out of love.
