Z4 DCT Shifter And Baseplate Retrofit

Hi All,

I need a volunteer with an auto steptronic transmission willing to test the DCT shifter retrofit kit. Here's a pic of what it looks with the OEM DCT transmission and the parts I have. Anyone wanting to help me out on this please let me know either in the thread or through PM.

I'm confused, are you changing the shifter in an auto 30i to a DCT style shifter? If so, is it just for the look?

Correct. This mod would be just for look but the shifter itself would illuminate the way it does OEM on a dct vehicle. The only thing not functional would be park and unlock button.

I wonder if you'll have better luck in the "other" Z4 forum outside of bimmerfest.

Not sure what "other" Z4 forum you may be referring to, but my guess is no, it won't be popular in that mysterious "other" place, either.

On the tube I watched a vid of a guy doing this to a 3 series, but I don't see this type of mod being popular w/ Z4 owners.
