LED light strips
has anyone tried the LED light strips that make your BMW look like an audi R8?
i was thinking of getting some but idk if i need to run separate wires to them, or if i can just steal voltage from the headlights http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/2-X-2...#ht_4577wt_939

It's totally not my cup of tea, but if I were to add a linear strip of LEDs, I'd make sure to avoid the eBay special and instead use a properly engineered kit, like this one from Hella:

Hey I got an idea. If you slap some Audi R8 badges all over your car in addition to the LED light strips, maybe people will think you really do have an R8. Man, you would be sooooo cool then.

Looks like the lights you tack onto your house at Christmas. It would be so totally sick if you could have alternating red, green, blue and yellow lights. Then maybe wrap them around the grilles too.

I will be getting the LED strip lights as soon as I replace my Roundel with the aftermarket Mercedes tri-star, or maybe the Rolls Royce flying lady. Decisions, decisions.

You are going to get that kind of reponse on this board when you try to make your car something it's not. I don't like those lights even on an Audi. You are trying to be different, and that's not a bad thing, but if you do some small tasteful mods, you will be much happier in the long run, and your car will retain more of it's value when you are done. I have done some crazy mods to my cars when I was younger, and I always regretted them in a few months. Some were irreversable, and I regretted those even more. Try to go for some small suspension mods on your car, and you will be much happier in the long run. Since you were properly flogged for your suggestion, and did not run away, you have passed the first test. Welcome! and don't be a stranger! The guys here are a great group, but you have to have a thick skin.

its a 325i its not an M6 so i wouldnt worry about retaining prestige and resell value, i got it for 7k so its worth more to drive it than to resell it
plus its already very well built so there arent a lot of modifications other than lights/rims |

You won't be, after putting those lights on it!
You sure about that?
