Question Does your dealer offer BMW loaners and car washes?

I must say that my local MB dealer has better customer service than my BMW dealer.

The MB dealer offers MB loaners, and free car washes. They also have a customer lounge with sodas, water, and usually some kind of fruit and cookies/brownies/cake.

My BMW dealer has a customer lounge with a TV, and vending machines. Yippie if I am parched I have to spend more money for a soda from the dealer I just spent $$$ with for a new car. I am surprised they have not installed the TV like the airports used to have. You know the ones that allowed you to insert a couple quarters for 15 minutes of TV.

Anyway, what additonal services or ammenities does your dealer offer. Am I out of line to expect more from an upscale dealer then from a Yugo dealer.

Sheesh even Jon's dealership offers a free detail after 1 year!

Honestly, I don't want them washing my car. Especially if it means just running it through a mini-automated wash (which is what most dealers that give "free" washes do).

But I would prefer BMW loaners. As it is, I get an Enterprise rental, usually some low-end Japanese econo-box.

My dealer offers BMW loaners and free washes whenever you're in for service. However, I declined the wash, as I heard horror stories about scratches and swirls after washes at my dealer. (John Roberts in Austin)

Also, you have to get there early if you want a BMW loaner. Once they're gone, you get a generic loaner from their in-house Advantage rent-a-car

Thumbs up Sat is wash day my dealer

The BMW Store in Cincinnati offers 'free' (your expected to tip the guys), car washes every Sat. Often there are 20 or so cars lined up! All washes are by hand and it can take anywhere from 30min to an hour to get in and out. Donuts and coffee are available if your early enough.

Great customer service, good time to hang and chat with other owners etc. I go every Sat weather and time permitting.

Mine offers BMW loaners and car detailing.

Just started refusing the detailing as the only person I trusted to do it moved to a local Porsche dealership to sell cars.

I dunno. Never been in for service. 4.5k miles.

BMW of Fairfax will probably be my dealer for service since I bought my car there and it's only a couple miles from the office. But I haven't heard great things about them.

They told me they'd offer loaners. Didn't specify BMW or not. When I went to parts dept. once, I saw this very uppity lady arguing w/ someone because she was going to be driving a Geo. So it seems they offer both BMW and Enterprise rentals.

They told me they were putting a mini wash in there. And that I could come use it once a week if I choose. I don't.

My dealer (VOB) uses the Enterprise Rentals, but stopped using the Geo Metro. Got to be kind of a joke and I think they got lots of complaints about the quality of the loaners.

my dealer offers loaners and car washes. however, i usually turn down the car wash and unless i make an appointment early, specify that i want a bmw loaner, and have a decent size job for them, i get stuck with an enterprise rent-a-car for the loaner. so far, i've had an volvo s40, an oldsmobile, and some other generic cars that i can't even remember. nothing nearly as nice as nate328ci's 540i.

i found that if you stick to one service advisor who knows you, you will have an easier time getting loaners and better service. my advisor thinks i'm crazy though because i ask him for an m3 loaner every single time i go in...

My dealer offers free washes (hand washes with proper shampoo and cotton cloths) and BMW loaners. The loaners are usually 3 series circa 1997-2000. They do serve free coffee and bagels in the lounge. Sodas, sandwiches and snack foods are available at additional cost.

Just had a 525iT today for a loaner, and picked up my sparkling clean car this afternoon too! My wife saw the 5er wagon and wants one now.

The dealership I use will provide a one day rental if you call in advance to request it, plus a carwash. I didn't buy from the dealer, but they have always treated me with great service regardless. Let's face it, the dealers are in it for the money, so whether they make it from sales or service really doesn't matter, does it? On a side note, I took my mother's Lexus in for service, and BMW could learn something from Lexus about customer service. The Lexus dealer had complimentary coffee, sodas, pastries, and snacks. The lounge had big leather chairs, newspapers, magazines, and a big screen TV. Still not enought to make me buy a Lexus, but made me a little envious.

Carwashes Only

Carwashes are automatic unless you tell them not to. They have only ask me one time if I wanted a loaner. Other times, I asked and was told they don't have any available.

I love hearing the amount of detail everyone is willing to offer about the perks or lack of them from their dealership. I had to have a laugh when I read "cream cheese" or "big leather chairs" I love the variety...... any free massages given from a princess in a toga while waiting?

The one negative thing I forgot to include is that the big-screen plasma TV is always set on CNN. Fox News would be much better (not trying to start a political discussion).

I think they are trying to appeal to all their clientele.

My dealer has offered to drive to my home with the loaner, pick up my car for service and drop it off once done. I need to give him a 3 day notice though
