99 740iL - Broken driver's side door handle

My driver's side exterior door handle broke off. I have a 1999 BMW 740iL and I would like to know what I should do to fix it. Can I use glue or can I weld it back on? Also, can someone tell me where I can find the part for the exterior side door handle?

welcome to the 'fest. i would try real oem to get part numbers. just enter the vin as prompted.

once you have the part numbers you can check with pelican, bavarian autosport, or even ebay.

this'll probably get moved, though, to the e38 section. they have their own subforum now. just a few of us e31/e32 guys in here now. (we get lonely... but then we ride in our cars and we do feel a lot better afterwards)

You will want to replace it with a new one (vs repair) it.

www.e38.org should have a write up on the replacement procedures. I'd have a body shop quote me a price to paint -and- install it. They usually don't charge too much for the install and they should know how to do it. It's not technically difficult, but knowing where the connection lock is and having the right tools makes a huge difference.
