Never mind I just activated it to see what it would do so I answered my own question. If you set it to aktiv, what will happen is instead of seeing cds 1 through 6 in CDC it will now show you the ipod menu, playlists, songs, albums etc.

I went though this whole post and didn't see a tutorial on doing this.

alrighty, here is what i got so far

1. Get the cable

2. install INPA . includes NCS-Expert tool (http://www.bimmerfest.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=637029)

3. do i need to configure anything or i'm good to go to my car and start changing code ?

Just programmed windows up via fob.

Seems right.. Hook up the cable to the ODBII port and launch NCSExpert .. It should tell you that you're connected to the car's System.

Just programmed windows up via fob.

Ignition ON, engine doesn't have to be running but I always start it and do it while its Running because after 10-15 the ACC power automatically shuts off.

You need K+DCAN cable. You can get the most reliable cable from one stop electronics but expensive than ebay cables.
