If you press the trunk button 1nce quickly and hold it the second time the trunk will close automatically. U just gotto hold it until it seals otherwise it'll just open again. How do I turn the welcome home lights on on my car? Also how do I set the doors to lock automatically when pulling off/driving.

Successful changes that I have made so far and things that might be interesting (and to help summarize previous notes from some of the other guys, obviously primarily 7figurez & makaveli)... I will add to the list as I get the time to format the stuff. My hope is to have a single place to consolidate the interesting things, though if someone wants to build up a master reference thread in the DIY section, it might be helpful to others. Keep in mind that I have a 2002 E66, which appears to include more check-controls turned on than later cars.

Keif,

I love the list format you started. We definitely need a list of the popular items to code!

Heres another thing I would like to code away...

Does anyone know how to get rid of the "location" screen that pops up on idrive? When the dealer turned off BMW Assist on my car, this screen started coming up every time i start the car. (Along with the legal one). At least the location screen will go away on its own after 30 sec or so...

I had to code them in the main cas file that was generated before I picked a module.
then I had to hit process whole car instead of picking a single module. And then code car.

I know what list you are going off of and those are. Not for 7series. Few will work for 7 but majority won't
Plus we don't have a cappl. Kmp3 is invalid for e65 and those mp3 lines don't exist as well. Those are for 3 and 5 series. Nobody on the net has a e65/e66 list, which is why we are compiling one here.

Looks like keif has it in his post up top for reverse lamps. Foglamps line should look the same but with nsw_l and nsw_r at the end.

Anyone using this on an 06+ E65/65. I read earlier if the NCS files are not up to date that you can end screwing things up and just need to make sure before I go ahead. I will be using the version of NCS expert that is included with INPA that was posted earlier in this thread.

So far I am unable to get INPA to work on my car using a USB to serial adapter. If anyone has this working can you let me know which type of adapter you are using? I can see batery and ignition but cant seem to access any of the modules without running into errors. Any help is appreciated.

Keif, I bought the cable listed here

http://www.bimmerfest.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=505694

I also downloaded the software used on the first page of that thread at well.

The above list by BMW74me should be edited or removed as makavli said since most of the coding does not relate to the e65 and you are going to confuse alot of folks with this copy/paste you have put here. You are going to have alot of people saying they cant get to the CAPPL module or they cant find the HUD settings, so I think it should be removed or just put the link to the other forum where u copied it from, so people know where and what the coding came from.

I would be willing to send out my cable to someone that wants there car coded and I can do it remotely, just as long as you have a laptop and can get internet access out to the car with the laptop.

I might take you up on that since I can't find the
things you have mentioned ( close trunk from inside button , digital speedo , &
I think there was 1 more I wanted ) I have done everything else I wanted .
Oh ya close trunk with trunk button instead of lock button .

PS: I have my own cord so you wouldn't have to send your's .

You are going to have alot of people saying they cant get to the CAPPL module or they cant find the HUD settings, so I think it should be removed or just put the link to the other forum where u copied it from, so people know where and what the coding came from.

Agree I was just trying to show what can be done ...no need to point fingers

Hey,

Does anyone know if its possible to code any of the setting on the Navigation?

I find its very annoying that I have to input the country and city everytime I enter a destination where as most navigations just auto default back to the last country/city used.

Any ideas?

For MP3, haven't tried anything yet, but just going through the files looks like MMI and MMIF modules with MP3 and MP3_FOND aktiv.

Had a chance just now to play with this hands on. I was able to see the MMIGT module (MMI) showing up. When I read that module, there is no MP3 or MP3_FOND node in the resulting TRC file.

IF, however, I read the entire car ("Process Car" option), the TRC file does contain those MP3 options.

I'm a bit apprehensive about coding the entire car after updating the resulting TRC from processing the car.

@MakaveliFaison - how are you going about this? will this work on a 2002?

Thanks in advance!

As a side note, was able to successfully use the items listed by Keif - thanks!!

As I stated before my car is a 02 and yes you have to code whole car for mp3. As of right now that's the only way.

I have internet access to my car so I can be a good candidate for this.

I took some pictures of the issues I am having with INPA so hopefully some of the experts can help

I am able to get to this screen after I choose E65... as you can see from the pic I can see both battery and ignition

Then I select "body" then "power module" and I get this error

After I click ok on this error I am taken to this screen which seems to be some generic screen for all the modules. I am unable to see the options I need to register my battery

Thanks for the confirmation!

I've tried recoding the entire car (no damage done, it appears it just goes through each module at a time), but when it hits KMBI_E65.C06, this error occurs. Is there a way to skip over this module?

ERROR! Modul: CBD_PROC.C, ProcNr: 02, LineNr: 10, ErrorNr: 40.
003004'01,CC_15_EIN (2587d, A1Bh)

ERROR! Modul: CDH.C, Proc: CDHGetNettoDataFromCbd, LineNr: 01, ErrorNr: 1043
COAPI-1043: error during processing CBD-file
KMBI_E65.C06

>> ERROR! Modul: COAPI2.CPP, Proc: coapiRunCabd, LineNr: 06, ErrorNr: 1043
SG_CODIEREN

Digging around in the files a bit more, it appears the reason we have to code the whole car is that when you read/write the MMI module individually, it is using the file MMI_E65.C02 which doesn't have the MP3 options in it. However, MMI_E65.C04 does have the option "MP3" in it. MP3_FOND, however, appears to be in another separate file MMIF_E65.C04. There doesn't appear to be any way to individually force the use of these files on the MMI module. For kicks I tried copying over MMI_E65.C02 with MMI_E65.C04 and reading the module again, but that fails.
