'07 X5 3.0 Serpentine Belt Breaks At 55k Miles

It happened at the dealership. The mechanic was taking it for a drive because my wife said the car was grunting a little when she shifted into reverse. The belt broke on the driveway, also knocked out power steering.

It's under CPO warranty. Was wondering if anyone else has lost their belt this soon. I was thinking these usually last 100k miles or more, right?
