I thought I had been clear when I said base price. Anyone can go look on BMWUSA.com and look at base price MSRP.

To make it simpler:

X3 35i Base MSRP = $41,050
X3 35i (Diplomatic/Military) = $39,370

Compared to other ranges:

X5 50i Base MSRP = $58,900
X5 50i (Diplomatic/Military) = $51,710

The new X3 discount is, by a large margin, the weakest of any discounts offered across their entire fleet.

I just visited another BMW dealership in town. They offered a much better deal on a pretty loaded 3.5

$54,565 - MSRP
$51,150 - Sale Price. (before sales tax & a $250 doc fee which is what everyone charges around here) This price is $500 over invoice. Not bad; not bad at all!

btw, Surfrider - my comments were not directed to just you, but a suggestion for everyone.

Yep - generaly consensus from this thread is that best deal out there right now is somewhere around $400 - $600 over invoice.

Amex is one way to get it and at some dealers you can do the old-fashiojned way.

I'm giving my local dealer a chance to match the Amex deal, else I'm going to pull the trigger at the Amex certified dealer later today. it is a couple hour drive, but they have exactly what i want on the lot.

If they have exactly what you want at great price, go for it. Waiting another 6-8 weeks sucks !!

Well sad news my favorite Sales gal had her last day today (Emily for those that know). She did give me some useful info pertaining to this thread.

Wait until after March to get the competitive pricing.

After Q1 BMWNA will adjust its pricing, incentives, and so on depending on their target quota for sales.

on the AMEX deal, do you have to pay destination fee too? The amex output did not say.

In the end, I didn't get to order from my preferred dealership. They weren't willing to negotiate. Went with a dealership that's about an hour south. Just shop around. Also, if you have an Amex card, you may be able to use their auto pricing program. Only works with certain dealers though.
Hi Marc can you share the name of the dealer ?. PM

Thank you

Good Luck

Extended maintenance plans

Any deals on the extra 2 year maintenance plans? I got a quote for $2095...this seems very high.

Greg, what's the deal on not releasing the new X3's for customer delivery until later in the month? Is that true, or just someone's speculation?

I'm wondering the same. My SA told me I'd be taking delivery by the second week of Jan. But as it stands, my car is still listed as "on order" on bmwusa. Was really wanting to get my car before Feb. Looks like that isn't going to happen.

Extended maintenance plan

What are people's thoughts on the 2011 X3 maintenance plan for the extra 2 years? It is $2095 but it includes brakes and rotors, oil changes, and scheduled maintenance according to the owners guide. It does not include hoses but it includes belts.

We actually delivered an X3 in Dec. we have one on the lot that is for sale as well....... sooo...ON Order means it's slated for production in either 111 or 112 status.. 112 means it will go any day. You CA should be able to give you EXACT production week.

Might need a new thread for this one but can you really burn through $2,100 in maintenance? Also, is this two years of maintenance start at year zero or is it after Year 3?

Apparently mine is marked 111 status. No idea what that means. I placed my order at the end of November. My CA is pretty useless. Never emails me back and doesn't seem to know much about anything. This is what I get for going to the cheap dealership.

Call the GSM and tell him you changed your mind and have decided to go to his competitor (whoever that may be) . If they are this bad now think of how bad they will be once the deal is done.

+1 but you did get a really great deal. The dealer may be giving folks who didn't get such a good deal priority over you (it happens).

Which I would understand. But if that's the case, I'd appreciate not being fed a shovel full of bull$hit about my production time. Just level with me.

I am considering calling the GSM and asking for another CA. I know there are a few good ones at this dealership. I got the lemon.

Ask for production number or VIN number. We just placed an order last Friday and the status changed to 112 as of Monday but with no production date yet based on automatic phone check.

CA is really transparent on what he has been doing. He educates us on how the process of ordering goes.

All dealers have certain allocations. They can change existing order to meet your specification. It our case, it moved up to production after they marked it as sold priority. If all allocations are used, they have to wait for next available allocation.
