Congrats! It looks great. Why don't you have snow in your driveway?

Tell us about your wheels. Are they aftermarket? They look just like a set of CSL reps I had on my 335i.

Great looking car. The Mojave Metallic has really grown on me. I just saw one earlier today in Tokyo and it looked great. Enjoy your new ride.

Looking good. So what do you think after a few days?
The sports seats are nice, it has to be said the non sport seats are flat. I have Nappa leather also, after 3 months there are no signs of day to day use, dirt (that a violating passenger brings in ) wipes clean off with a damp micro-fibre cloth (as prescribed on this forum).

Hard to say how the car should handle with the stock rubber since I have snow shoes on now and with the narrower rear tires, it does get a bit loose in the rear, but extremely easy to get the car under control even with traction ad stability off. Power delivery = much better than my 07. Just haven't gotten through the break in period, so haven't really pressed the throttle hard yet. I will say one thing, and my only complaint, that the steering is a bit overpowered and creates a vague feel at the wheel. With less power assist on the steering, I would call it a perfect car.
The looks grew on me, at first, I will admit, I was not a huge fan of the E89, but now that it grew on me, and I now have one in person (mine only the 3rd I've ever seen, and the only one in Mojave), I can honestly say it is one of the best looking cars on the road, and from all the looks I get while driving (you all know what I mean), I guess I m not the only one tht feels that way.. :-)

Glad your enjoying your new ride. Its beautiful! At least with the crappy weather it will force you to be easy on the throttle during the breakin period. I just got back from a ski trip in our land yacht Yukon - which handles like a charm with the AWD. But, it was sooo nice to drive the Z again on warm dry pavement!

Thanks.. Yeah, I never really saw the color in person other than on a series from a distance at night. So I was kinda taking a chance, which was glad I did. When I first saw my car in person I realized that I made the right choice indeed.

So like me, you went from the old Z to the new Z... what are some of your initial impressions between the two?

Well, Old z, more precise handling ad better steering response, as a result a slightly harsher ride, but never had a complaint. Don't get me wrong, the 2011 handles great but just seems to have have its limit met alot sooner on sharp turns. Bear in mind, I am running snow tires on the car now, so handling may be hindered a bit by that ad the narrower rear tires I m running for the winter over stock. Fit, finish, appearance and interior comfort, goes to the 2011. Seats are light years better on the 2011. Stereo, seems pretty close in sound (Premium audio), but a plus is having the iPod integration as well as the sirius radio. One thing that really impressed me was the fact that now the bluetooth hands free for my cell phone is usable and actually sounds great, both on my end as well as to the person I am talking to. My 2007, it was virtually useless..

Yea the initial response from the steering offers very little, and just beyond that it offers too much. But I guess it's easier for the average person to live with. And my bro has the old Z4M..absolute animal, and it's costs less than my 23i. The steering is great, and that's the best engine of the lot in my opinion. I can't get insured on his though

. I actually feel that my old ///M was a better ride than the current Z. The old Z is was on regular ties with 18" wheels where my current Z is on run flat 19's!! Quote:

True the new Z4 is much more of an everyday car, very easy to live with. I love it! And nice car man...the colour is awesome.

Thanks for all the positive words. Just drove for the first day in the heavy snow. Was kinda snowed in early in the morning, but after the plows came by and cleared the road a bit. Not bad.. Not bad at all. The snow tires really make it capable of handling anything other than extremely deep snow (I would imagine, due to the low clearance)....

One observation, while on my 2007, there did not appear to be a significant difference in acceleration between when the traction control was on as opposed to being off, but on my 2011, when I go into Sport+ mode, which turns the traction control off, it's like driving a different car all together. Like night and day between normal and sport+. I was beginning to think the car wasn't as fast as I had hoped it would be. Seems to be really slowed down by the traction. Am I the only one to have noticed this? Or can it be contributed to my having snow tires on the car being narrower in the rear than stock?
