Airbag Light Flickering
I have an 05 X5. The airbag light comes on when someone is sitting in the passengers seat. Also, while it is on, it flickers on and off from time to time. Any ideas?

I seem to remember this coming up elsewhere and it was to do with the occupancy sensor in the seat. Involved removal of seat cover to R & R.

I have this same exact problem with our 2004 X5 3.0. Any good source for the sensor or info on replacing it?

On my X5 Item 3 here:
http://www.realoem.com/bmw/showparts...63&hg=65&fg=65 Part No. 65776921952 I buy from here: http://eshop.original-teile.de/index...am=51167001409 Sorry-but I don't have a DIY. You need to remove the seat, remove the plastic trim around the base, unhook the cloth rails that hold the cloth to the base of the seat, pull the cloth back, unlink the o-rings, pull out the old sensor, replace it with the new and then put the seat back together in reverse to how you took it apart. Each seat differs depending on spec. Some are easier than others. Take your time. Otherwise do what some do and buy/make a small circuit that bypasses the sensor. This means you can NEVER have a baby seat in the front passenger seat of the car and could lead to an insurance claim being made void. A cheap fix but Not Recommended.
