Will silicon fix my window rattle?
Hi, I'm not sure if I should just take my Z4 (59 plate) straight to a dealer or if someone can help with some advice. An annoying rattle has appeared which seems to be coming from the top of my drivers side window near the door join. During the cold weather its been much worse and its also louder when the car is cold, once warmed up its not as bad but still there especially on bumpy roads. If I put the tin roof down the rattle is gone, or if I put my window down its seems to be gone. I read on the internet that you can by some silicon that you put on the window edge and roof seals that stops the 'Window chattering" but it costs £30 and I don't want to waste money if thats not the problem, or make things worse. I just had a dreadful rattle from my boot lid fixed after 2 attempts at the dealers, so I feel a bit embarrassed taking it in again for another rattle elsewhere. Can anyone suggest whether this silicon would be worth trying or maybe its coming from inside the roof and I should just bite the bullet and take it straight to the dealer? Thanks!! I apologise up front if I sound stupid!
