Talking Wind Deflector for convertible

I just bought the wind deflector about 2 weeks ago... It is one of the best things I ever bought for my car!!
It makes highway driving and driving over 30mph so much more enjoyable!
Id really suggest it to all convertible owners!!

That is one o my planned purchase before the spring. I've been prowling e-bay for a deal so hopefully I get one soon.

You will find a new love for driving with your 'vert top down once you get it!!

This seems to be the regular online price for it...
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/BMW-6...item255427c72e
Thats from BMW of Morristown, NJ. Not sure where in NY you are, but thats just over the bridge.

Either way, I highly suggest it!

I drove an hour on the highway today and it was such a pleasure!

This is a good price. And it's located here in US, so shipping will be quick. I paid $400+ for mine and had to wait approx. 2 mos for it to get here from germany.

What happens if you have the deflector installed and you need to carry rear seat passengers? Can you store it somewhere? I'm guessing it will not fit in the trunk.

It folds in half very cleverly and has a case to store it in.
Install and uninstall is about 30 seconds.

I have the deflector and carry case. Problem is I can't remember how it folds in half?

When you take it off of the car, half of the top folds down and the same half of the bottom folds down.
I just took a pic of my instructions that came with my wind deflector for you. See below...

I hope that helps.

a big thumbs up on the usefulness of the wind deflector... I managed to get the dealer to include one in the deal when I bought my vert last October. Real easy in and out, and folds up nice in its own flat trunk-size case. The mesh allows for some visibility through it when it is in the up position. Also, when you put the top up, you can either leave the deflector in place or easily flip the upper part of the deflector down flat so you have regular rear visibility.
I've used it about 50% of the time, and it even allows me to put the top down in weather between 50 and 65 degrees F where the cold might have been uncomfortable without it.

I want to grab a deflector next time I'm down in the States. I did a trip down to the Tail of the Dragon in October two weeks after I bought the car and the top was down most of the trip (800 miles each way). I think a deflector would be perfect for long highway trips.

BTW, if you have not done it before and you are within driving range, I highly recommend visiting the roads in the Smokey Mountains area of North Carolina. I have been tracking my cars for 15 years and always believed that a race track was the ultimate driving experience but these roads blew my mind like nothing I've encountered before. Considering the weight of the car it handled the snaking roads like a champ.

Check out a few videos on YouTube. At the bottom of the Tail is a shrine to all the bikers who have crashed. The Tree of Shame.

I bought mine last summer. It is fantastic. Im going to try to have it powder coated to match my interior before summer. Im going to have to remove a few parts and the screen but I think it can be done...
Im currently trying to find screen material that is tan like my interior..

Thanks for the link Koenvw but I think with the current value of the dollar to Euro, plus the shipping cost and wait times, I think the $400 US might work out to be the same overall.

That's $336 USD. Plus shipping I'd imagine.

just be aware that this may not be folding and can be trouble to store if it is not...

having a folding screen makes it so much more versatile...

you might consider looking at epoxy paints that can be sprayed on... may be just as good as powdercoating and will work on the plastic and metal parts...

Theres only one very poor pic... can really see how well it fits.
You can get em online for just a few bucks more and probably much quicker shipping.
