Any deals on the new X3
Looking at buying one of these over the next 30-60 days if I can get a deal on one. Local dealers don't have many and are unwilling to move below MSRP. So wondering if anyone else is finding better luck elsewhere.
If not, I'll just sit tight. I've got 30-60 days to wait it out. |

Odd that dealers arent discounting their newest product which has just started being delivered to customers, no? Didnt see that coming.
...you may have to wait a bit more than 30-60days before you see any "deals."

Hey, thanks for the smart ass reply. If you google, you'll see some people are, but the details are sparse. So where better to ask then HERE. And if you look at BMW's history, they'll often start giving some small incentives in after a couple months. But hey, thanks for the help. |

I suspect that as soon as the pipeline gets filled up and the cars start languishing on the dealer lots eating up his floorplan money
then deals will be forthcoming. I would look for that in about 3 to 4 months, but that is just a WAG. Probably you are better off waiting until all the production glitches have worked themselves out anyway. Good luck!

my apologies for giving you a hard time. Just razzin ya. The old adage "Ask a stupid question, get a stupid reply" seemed to fit your post. It would be remarkable indeeed if any salesperson or company was willing to discount its newest, shiniest, highly hyped product after it had invested perhaps a hundred million dollars in bringing the darn thing to market. Its a supply and demand thing. Right now the balance is very much against you -- low supply, high demand. Why would a dealer ever be willing to "deal" in this environment?

Just ordered my x35 with sport and DHP a few weeks ago. Getting it for $500 over invoice.
In the end, I didn't get to order from my preferred dealership. They weren't willing to negotiate. Went with a dealership that's about an hour south. Just shop around. Also, if you have an Amex card, you may be able to use their auto pricing program. Only works with certain dealers though. |

OK so does that qualify as a "deal?"

I'd say that it does. $500 over invoice for a new model is pretty damn good. That's about 3k under MSRP if you're keeping score. If you want something better, you'll probably have to go with a 2010...if you can find one...and if you would even want one.

We're talking about actual dealer cost as "invoice" here, not what is listed on the window sticker which is the MSRP right? I suspect that left over '10's would be going for about that, but the '11's? That is a DEAL! That must be one hungry dealer out there in the rain forest!
Well done Marc!

--like I said. You definitely can find deals out there. Dealers would be crazy to expect MSRP in this economy.
ok I'm an idiot

Are you an American Express card holder? If so, use their Auto Purchasing Program. If there is an authorized dealer in your area, you'll get $700 over invoice. Not bad.

The offer I got (sticker $54,565) was $2K discount, which according to KBB is $2,420 over invoice pricing of $50,145. When you compare this price to invoice, it's not a great deal, but when compared to what most seem to be paying, it seems pretty good.

No you don't. http://amexnetwork.zag.com You can use the quote price to negotiate the price. Some dealers still want full sticker price. Good Luck. Last edited by maestroX2; 01-04-2011 at 04:02 PM. |

I am going out for a test drive on Friday and will pit my two favorite dealerships against each to see what they offer.
One of them is Emily's--go figure ![]() The one dealership will even open on Sunday's if you want to check one out--so you know they're hungry. If one does offer a good price I saw a gentleman looking for an MT X3. Mine just turned 30k miles so he might get himself a good deal.

I dont think you have only the dealers to blame, BMW is being extremely tight.
Recently got my Diplomatic / Military pricing and the 35i is $39,370 for the base price. Compared to other discounts across the range, this is pretty terrible. For comparison, the X5 50i is $51,710 base. Huge difference in the discounts. I was ready to pull the trigger on the X3 from everything that I had read and seen about it, but this discount is a joke. Its nothing anyone couldnt get walking into their local dealership.

I'm sure we all appreciate reading everyone's pricing posts, but when the MSRP and/or INVOICE prices are not listed in your post, it is impossible to know what kind of true discount you are getting. Please mention (at least) the MSRP and the price you were quoted/you paid. Thanks.

If you shop around there are dealers already discounting the new X3... I have seen $1,000 off MSRP already
