ActiveHybrid 5s are on the ground. Anyone drive one yet?

It seems my local dealer has one in stock right now and it's a 2012. I didn't even know these were out yet

Are these as seamless as Lexus Hybrid systems?

I saw a few of them at my dealer a few weeks ago. There were all MY2012 models.

It's actually pretty usable, just smaller. Look at an M35 Hybrid. That's useless.

Jesus, that's horrible

The Infiniti M is such a piece of crap in this segment. It's ridiculous.

I did notice that when I was looking at it. To me the hybrid is basically useless from a efficiency perspective as it only increases city mileage by 3 mpg. The only benefit is the increased power but it's hardly worth it for the price delta to the 535i.

Actually, because of the higher residual, a hybrid lease costs just slightly more than a comparably equipped 535 (its about the same lease cost on an ED). I considered it but the smaller trunk and lack of fold down seats was a deal breaker for me.

Yes, $61,100 base MSRP for the 2013 activehybrid5 and $62,400 for the 2013 550i. The 550i has some standard features that are options on the hybrid such as multicontour seats and rear view camera. But I believe that the residuals for the hybrid are 4 percentage points higher than the 550i.

I saw one at the local dealer, and my reaction to it was that the ActiveHybrid badge behind the rear door looked kinda cheesy.

They are also heavier thus less fun to drive.

I appreciated the extra weight in the back last week after the winter storm

Weight distribution Automatic transmission 49.1/50.9

Besides it's the same weight difference if you have friends in the car.

Agreed. My AH7 does pretty decent in the snow. Was surprised.

The delayed throttle response isn't on the monroney label either but it's included! Non existent on the AH cars.

You may have a point there.

active hybrid does not equal fuel efficiency. just more hp from what have read. still beats a 550 in economy
