Mein Auto: 2008 X3 Auto
New E83 owner

Hello all !!

I am a proud new owner of a 2008 BMW X3 with Auto transmission.

I went into the dealership (Toyota dealer) after looking at a cars.com advt and ended up buying it. It has ~62k miles on it - 2 owner

Has Premium package, Cold weather pkg and the Sports Activity package.

Drives really well - car fax was clean with some regular maintenance. One of the maintenance items was - "Internal transmission repaired" - which got me worried - but did not notice any weird shifting.

Any other maintenance/preventative items to look into immediately? I will lurk around this forum to learn from all of you wonderful folks

Just one observation - the drive by wire throttle is a bit slow to respond off the stop. Once it gets moving it is quick - but just the off the line response is a tad slow. Not sure if this is by design?

Any other words of wisdom or watchouts?

Welcome aboard! Be sure to read the stickies at the top of the page too. Way too much info but scan through to get an idea of what is going on with the post '06 E83 transmissions etc. You are just beyond a major service at 60K miles so I hope that was done before you got the car. Otherwise the next bank breaker will be at 100K when (it seems like) everything gets changed. If you haven't already done so, be sure to find a good BMW oriented indy wrench as the dealer will eat you alive. Even the indy will be expensive -- just not ruinous! Enjoy the new ride.

Welcome aboard. You can find your build sheet here.

Sounds like your car had a problem and the problem was fixed. So you can rest easy.
