Pics of my new ride
2011 X6 5.0
Vermillion Red/Sand Perforated Nevada Leather This is my first BMW and wow, am I impressed. I was a little apprehensive as to whether I would like it or not since I had only driven a 35i. I had read tales of exhaust sound woes but found them to be totally unfounded. 8 speed transmission is a thing of beauty too. I found it 800 miles away at a BMW dealer. It had 2400 miles on it and I was able to pick it up for almost $25K under MSRP. My wife and I flew out and had a great road trip back home! It had most of the options I wanted as well as interior and exterior colors. Premium package - no garage door Premium Souund - great sound Rear climate control Active ventilated seats - huh? Sport package/Adaptive Drive - a must have option Active steering nice in parking lots Comfort Access great feature Soft Close Doors - love this Cold weather pkg - Ilive in Florida! Automatic high beams - surprise, they work pretty good HUD - Especially handy for GPS display Lane departure warning - iritating Rear seat Entertainment Pkg - Total waste of $1,700 Smartphone Integration - still have a Stupidphone |

Great ride. It's the same setup that I've got on my 2009. What's next on the list ?

Thanks PapaB,
I can't drive this car enough. Any excuse to go the gorcery store works for me! Last week my wife and I took a trip up to Western NC. It handled the mountains with ease. I added Coco Mats to the front. I really recommend them. Cost about $150 with shipping. Next, I want to add 214s or 336s 20" wheels and tires without the RFT feature. I also plan to add a metal running board. Would like just a little more sound from the exhaust but I don't want to spend 3 or 4K! How 'bout you. Any modifications? What color combo do you have? ricosan |

Same colors as you. Man is it a great combo. So far I've done the Lux angel eye upgrade, added the BMW performance black kidneys and spoiler to the rear, power coated the "y" style rims matte black, and added a JL audio 12W6 high output sub box". Next is to paint the fog light surrounds black, powder coat the running boards, window trim and rear roundel black.
Then I am saving to do a Dinan stage 1 reflash. Last edited by PapaB; 10-11-2012 at 07:49 PM. |

Jealous. Would love to get an X6 but the cost of used models are still high and the is MPG is scary low. How mug does it cost you to fill it up with premium?

Gimpy,
Yea, like PapaB said, between $80 to $90 with gas around here at about $4 a gallon. That said, the return on investment does make it less painful! This car really gives back in so many ways every time you drive it. There are bargains out there. If you really want one, you can find it. I searched for about 2 months before I found a great deal from a dealer with most of the options I wanted. Be prepared to travel. ricosan |
