Possible wheel trade?
Sat down yesterday with my local dealer to configure a new 335is (a dream) only to find out that the wheels I wanted are no longer an option
I'm a wheel guy so that was pretty bad news. So I thought I'd see what the possibilities are of trading wheels with another owner - I know some people may not like the 19 inch runflats (which I think are the only tire that these will take). Anyway - I'm looking to trade this 313 style: ![]() for this style: ![]() I won't have the car until June of this year, so I'm really just testing the waters to see if there's any interest, if it's even a possibility. Thx! |

I don't blame you. The bottom wheels are much nicer.

Have you been in a cave the past year? Those too are my favorite rims the 225's BUT they have been cracking all over Europe hence the reason they are now unavailable there was even a special on in London with the equivalent of our 60 minutes...True blessing although they look really sweet. What you don't like those 313's?I think they are Okay

Sadly, not a fan of the 313s, they look a bit dull to me, even duller when paired with space gray, which I'm determined to get since my last 3 cars have been black. |

Ya know what really kills me is these dealerships either don't tell you or are totally clueless. You can google the rims with the story and should have no problem reading up.Ever see the 260 rims? Those are an up-graded option on the 335is and look kinda similar to the 225's worth checking out they are nice....Anyways good luck

225's are pressure cast; 313's are forged.

Just order the car with a basic rim you can use as a winter set and go to tirerack or the classifieds on this forum and get what you want.

If the 225's were forged they wouldn't be cracking. My point is the 313s are better wheels; stronger and lighter since they are forged - but beauty is in the eye of the beholder

I would like those 313 wheels more if you had larger drilled rotors and Brembo calipers.

Personally I wouldn't trade the stock 313 wheels. It's one of the little things that sets my car apart from the other E92s. Plus people spend money to upgrade to 313 performance wheels. And plus 313 are stronger.

For now, I'm over them. Fwiw my dealer said nothing, even called back to his parts department to see if any were available, "I can only find front ones." To be fair, he has to toe the company line... I'll see what kind of price he can gets me before I judge him too harshly. I agree with the poster who said, "just get the standard 313s and buy different rims later and use the originals for winter tires if you want to." thx again to the board. |

This is exactly what i'm saying remember I am not the OP here and just warned him off those 225's for the better and forged 313's.I like the 225's better too but gotta use better judgement here.Oh and I do like the 313's but this thread really has nothing to do with forged rims does it?

My point is 225's ARE cracking and the thread has nothing to do with forged rims or my personal preference for either wheel it is the non safety issue of the 225's.Across the pond there are law suits pending against BMW pertaining to the 225's and the cracking issues....Just trying to help the OP out here I couldn't care less about his choice in rims.I'm done here this thread should be helpful not the way it's turning......later

I'm with you here. I offered some helpful advice and caught a lot of flack as a result. Soured me on this site for a while. Shame there are some bad apples who have to engage in such behavior.

I don't know anything about this topic...but as a completely objective reader of this thread....chop, you are the one who made this thread confrontational...it started with your post 9. Pot, meet kettle.

But if you really read and understood this thread you would see that my info was to benefit the OP not to win some silly argument...You know Chop is no Saint but tries to be somewhat constructive not like some other posters.............See-ya
