major problems with comfort access doors over the last year. Doors just stop latching...major pain in the rear.

Also, nav computer out and IPod won't load.

Apart from that, in all seriousness, I love the car!

1. Oil leaks from cam sensor, transmission pan, value cover gaskets, brake vacuum pump, alternator bracket.
2. Exhaust valve stuck open
3. Heat stopped working; auxiliary water pump
4. Fuel tank vent valve
5. Brake vacuum pump sucking oil
6. Transmission clunking on downshift; had pan replaced and software update. BMW says replace the tranny next for $8k....yeah right.
7. Altenator, water pump, hoses replaced.
8. Awaiting the next issue. It is bound to happen. Even BMW admits it is an unreliable vehicle.

When you put it like this it made me realize what a great idea this was

I haven't had any issues with my car for the first 8months of ownership untill last week. First thing was that the nav was showing I was like 5 miles away from where I was. Fixed itself yesterday. All day today my drive knob was going crazy. It would shake if I put one finger on it and if I turned it, it would jump back and forth. I read on here some guy that had this problem and it said to hold down firmly on the knob for a while and it would go away. I thought no way that would work but for now it has. I drove around for about an hour changing songs and menus with no issues. However when I parked and used my parking sensors it is showing an object within the red zone to the left and right of the rear
Hopefully this one will repair itself by tomorrow. Honestly this is my 2nd BMW (545i for about 1.5 years) and I have never had to do anything other than routine maintenance.

Same observation here. Although it seems to be somewhat random. And my current issues 1) rear-end clunking - think it's guibo, 2) front end shimmy (new tires, new control arms/tension struts still did not fix - I think it is a wheel bearing at this point), 3) ASK unit causing right front speaker in door to have no sound, 4) minor - rattling sound when starting (loose heat shield or exhaust valve?)

When cold navi behaves sporadically.

When cold trunk won't stay open.

Listening volume on btum doesn't work.

Every now & then, the volume behaves weird, it'll just blast at its peak! Then it will work fine for months.... causes you to s--t a brick when that happens.

This thread makes me think of all the reasons I have been thinking of upgrading to a CPO'ed 2009 but, if you check their forum, there are plenty of problems with that car.....whining oil pump and even worse, a constant right pull on some cars. At least I know that mine drives straight and will hold a line! I would really hate to shell out for an almost new f1 and realize that the thing won't cruise as well as what I already have.

Still, I wish they could fix these freakin' comfort access doors! A car is not of much use if the doors won't latch.

I forgot to mention that's including replacing all O2 sensors as well. Sorry! Still to pricy. Got an Indy to do it for about 1200.

Lets see.... I took my car to the dealership after I bought it to get a full diagnosis of everything that could be possibly wrong with it. Walked out with a 2k bill. Comfort access for the front doors needed replaced (expensive) like $1,100. There was a coolant issue and an alignment issue. Well they replaced the coolant tank and then did a wheel alignment. Wheel alignment was worthless cause it wasn't fixed and it still leaked coolant. To top it off when I got the vehicle back it was missing a lug nut....I paid 300 dollars for a in depth inspection and they roll it out with a lug nut missing....Nice! Then the TPM said I had a flat....I took the vehicle to another place and they found out more things. Alignment was off cause I guess the tie rod needed replaced and the wheel was bent so I had that replaced. So the bent wheel caused air to leak and then when they did the alignment it didn't matter cause the rod caused it to go bad again. Then they said I need new gaskets which on a V12 is about $3500 job....lol so that's getting done. Still trying to figure out the coolant issue but they think that's going to be expensive. Some bushing for the suspension needs replaced as well, Logic 7 amp needs replaced too. I'm going to have to eat the first bill of 2k, then eat the second bill of 2k and the rest (probably 6k) is going towards the $6100 warranty! Least I will more than likely get my money's worth over 4yr/50k miles.

Also trying to get some kind of refund back because obviously the stealership didn't find half the stuff during there "extensive $300 inspection" as well for replacing the coolant tank and obviously not pressure testing the system or else they would have found the other issues. And for the alignment because that was a waste as well. What do you guys think? Chance in hell? I mean if they would have found the tie rod (dont quote me, what I was told, not a mechanic) the they would have fixed that before the alignment. After I noticed the alignment was still off, the service adviser told me "BMW's naturally pull to the right" Not even kidding about that one.
