Voice Commands ?????

Does the Voice Command system work on a car without Nav? I have been trying to get it to function without success on my MY 2010 that has premium radio, but NO Nav. Before I make the long trek to my Dealer, can anyone enlighten me. The Owners manual is somewhat confusing in this area.

I have a 2011 Z4, and yes, the voice command system works exactly as advertised in the owner's manual. I can press the picture of the phone on the steering wheel and say "dial number" or "dial name", or "save name", etc. All works perfectly. This is assuming that your phone is connected via bluetooth and I would presume is a supported phone that BMW recognizes. I have a Motorola Android.

Thanks for your input. I am using an Apple G4 and that works perfectly, so I guess I'll get my dealer to help me configure the Voice system.
