SO the weird thing is... The icon is NOT listed in my manual???
![]() I use Super and just had a Oil Change @ 3months ago. No knocking or loss of power, etc. Drives and feels normal. Of course I can take it to dealer, but typically this means exhaust issues or loose gas cap on other cars .

You know whats funny, is when it was cold ass shyt, my car sat over A week too! But when I drove it the first couple days, no lights.
The symbol is a "engine photo". Also usually if theres a problem like oil, air, light blown, etc, it will show up in iDrive/Settings Car Data. But everything says OK.

It's listed in the manual in an obscure place. I spent an hour looking for it a couple of weeks ago. It's supposedly is for Canadian models and indicates an emmissions failure. Actually took my car in for this and the brake recall. They changed out the crankcase breathers, then the a gas vent breather....yesterday the light came back on. Taking car in for oil change next week and will let the dealer look at this again.

It's weird because usually North American cars use "CHECK ENGINE" as the actual indicator. And it usually means emissions, exhaust, or similar.

I had the same thing going on with my '06 750LI in Dec/2010. My dealer reset the light and it went away for a couple of weeks and came back again. They ended up replacing the vacumm hose and it's been good for over a month. It cost about $600 to replace the dame hose (Parts were less than $50). I need to find a good mechanic in my area because it's getting little expensive to maintain my car. Last night my dealer called and told me about an engine leak they discovered when they worked on it last month and will need to replace the vacumm pump. It will be $700-800 to replace the vacumm pump.
I told the customer relations that they should've informed me about the leak when I had the hose replaced a month ago...

I spoke to my former SA who relocated since I know he will shoot me straight. He say what I thought: Possible loose gas cap (# 1 reason) followed by emissions issue, most likely a thermostat. I have tightened it and will see later on when I have to drive. Otherwise, I will drop off at service since car is CPO.

It's on page 212 of the 2008 Owners manual in the maintenance section. Says it's used when an emission fault is detected on Canadian models.....

Well after having the car in three times for the Check Engine light it looks like they finally fixd it. Last time they changed the fuel tank vent valve. This time the repair was "connected fuel vent valve connector" So much for fixing it right the first time....
