need advise on auto-dimming mirrors

Can these auto-dimming mirrors be ordered separately -as far as I see they are part of the package only, it includes sunroof which I do not want...

Thanks

In the US, you'll have to retrofit/buy the mirror as an accessory in order to just have the interior dimming mirror. Otherwise they have to be bundled.

Why do you want them? They just make it almost impossible to see anything behind you at night (except headlights) where the "old fashioned" kind allow much more vis in the low light conditions.

I think the auto-dimming interior mirror is a nice tool when cars behind you have aftermarket and/or improperly dipped headlights and doesn't really impede vision since the amount of dim is controlled. However, I really don't like the exterior auto-dimming mirrors, it's far easier to "miss" a car's reflection at night and risk changing lanes into another vehicle.

Exactly my point! I would almost go so far as to say that in some situations the auto dimming mirrors (especially on the side) could be a safety hazard. I really don't mind the clown nose dimmer on those very rare occasions when the car following me has overly bright lights.

we have those auto-dimming mirrors (including outside) on our Q5, and they work great-I guess it depends on how much they dim /how manufacturer sets it up.
I do like the inside auto-dimming rear-view mirror, and I believe that at least inside one should be standard on $40K+ vehicle...
