M-sport package question

I just noticed that the rear end for the 35i with M-sport looked pretty bad - is it actually like this or is it actually painted? Attached is a pic of the 35i with the m-sport and the 35is which always has that package.

The front M bumper I like - never been a fan of the rear M bumper either painted or unpainted. But if that's what the configurator is showing - your seeing what you get.

Take it from a guy who has the ///M package:
a. the front bumper is so beautiful that you'll get over it, and
b. depending on the color you choose for your car, you may not even notice it.

I do love the front bumper. I also love that the m shifter has a shorter throw than the default one (and is black). The default wheels are also nicer. Steering wheel - don't really care. But the rear diffuser is killing me!!! (I'm pretty much set on the blue) Gaah!!! What to do!

I just saw a new white 35i with the "M sport package" this week. Personally I don't really like of the look of the black rear end, but with a blue car there wouldn't be as much contrast. You could also have it painted to match like the 35is.

vivek_v_rane, When I was shopping for my car, I wasn't sure I wanted the M steering wheel that came on the 35is. You'll love it!

On the contrary, I still have to plan my trip, find good airfare, book hotels, budget for the trip, convert currency and plenty more to do before the pickup! The actual torture will be the redelivery...

They look the same, however there are some design differences I can see. Not sure about the feel or thickness, but I'm guessing they're similar.

I agonized over that rear for a long time and was so very relieved when I finally saw her in person. You hardly notice with dark colors..., to the point that I can honestly say that my baby's got a sweet arse! Here she is in Black Sapphire:

Ahhh, but they are both camouflaged with dark colors... b'sides I was just looking for an excuse to show off the "Assets".

For sure! Maybe even a (super-tiny) convoy around Tahoe?

I would've liked to go through Phillipe (more so after watching some of his ED-in-129-steps videos) but since BMW of Roseville was offering the same deal I went through them.

Yeah, see the pics from my first post. However, I decided that the sweet front splitter and the ///M shifter and steering were worth it.

Besides, I disliked the default 18" wheel design on the 35i sports pkg, so I would've had to go with the 19"s, but then that would lead to greater vulnerability to rash. Since I liked the 18"s on the M-sport, I don't need to "upgrade". All that taken into account, the cost ends up being the same

(am I being too analytic about this? )

Personally, i don't like the front or rear of either....too pointy for my liking!!

Too pointy?

actually pointy makes sense to me.. it def doesn't follow the organic lines of the rest of the car. I'm fairly certain they didn't consult the original design team when adding the rear diffuser.

Wraith, did you swap your grills for black ones or did you paint them? They look good on your black car.

I had the dealer swap them at redelivery. I also had them install the painted side markers, stubby antenna and window tints.
