88-96 V12 (M70) - New guy needs engine information
Hi, I am new here so I don't know if this is in the right section or not. If it isn't maybe someone can direct me to the correct one. I need the dimensions for the bellhousing bolt pattern and crank shaft on a M70 V12. I am making an adapter plate to mate this engine with a different transmission. I am located near Dallas TX so if there is anyone in this area who might have an engine out of the car that I could measure I would really appreciate it. Thank you

Does anybody here know how I can contact TxGr8White? He hasn't answered any emails and I lost his phone number when my cell phone died. Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

Click on his screen name and message him would be the first thing I would try.
He also uses the same screen name at other forums. If he doesn't answer to a message here then message me and I will direct you to other places he can be found. Not polite to send traffic to other forums from this one.

Well then--the current primary info place is Bimmerforums 8 Series section. Someday it may be here but not yet. The poster referenced was active there today.

Is there anyone else in the Dallas area who has an M70 engine that I could take a look at or even just a flexplate off the engine that I could measure?

I have another question about the later model V12. I believe it is the M73. It has the notches on the flexplate for the crank shaft position sensors. Do the 2 sensors that take reading from these notches have to be a specific number of degrees apart? I am making an adapter to use this engine with a different transmission and need to machine the locations of the sensors into the adaptor.
