Take a look at the two PDF's attached.

The 2012 is only $650 less than the 2011.

Note that there are currently two errors with the 2012 Build Your Own site, including:

1. No inclusion of Gas Guzzler tax, which is $1,000, and

2. ARS will not be coupled with the M Sport Package and will need to be added at a cost of $2,000

So, if I were you, I would take the deal you negotiated and have your salesperson knock off another $650.

I got over 10k knocked off last week on a 750ilx But USA dealers can only do this in Feb as the $2500 manufacturer incentive is only good for Feb delivery. I gather clearing out for March assembly and April delivery with the nice paddle wheel!

You should be able to buy the car described in the 2011 pdf for $93,xxx through end of month. Roughly 12k off of MSRP.

No way that should be over 100k for the 2011.

glindsey is right, the 2011s need to provide some protection in their price for the value drop as soon as the 2012s hit.

However, that is a short term issue. After 4 years, with similar mileage, a 2011 and a 2012 will only differ in value by 2-3k or so given there isn't much difference in the model years

My 2011 750Li MSRP was 106,725.....what should it come down to?

They have come down to 100,xxx, I think they should be able to come down to 94-96.

thoughts?

One quick way for a starting point is to go to truecar . com and see what dealers in your area are pricing. Looks like for Austin, your car might be in the 95,xxx via dealers about 150 miles away - probably Dallas.

You can do better than that price, but that is already way ahead of where you are.

If nothing else, they should drop the price by at least 5100 based on dealer cash and option credits.

Thanks, I just pulled it up on truecar. AVERAGE priced paid for that car with the options was 100,xxx. That is Average. They should be able to do much better than that....well, in fact they will have to or no deal.

It stinks....I dont have the time to order another car, sounds like no changes to the 12 except some package combinations.

I did confirm that post Sept builds are fully upgradeable to the new BMW Apps when it is available.

And that average price was based on last 90 days, not the most recent pricing that has the incentives.

EDIT: On Truecar, make sure you have checked off the incentives available under Edit Incentives to get the correct dealer pricing.

Incredible....I just talked to a Sales person at a different dealership, he informed me that BMW Apps will NOT BE upgradeable for Post Sept cars....only on cars produced March 11 and after.

I really just don't get why there is not a published answer from BMW on this.

I saw that but it can be interpreted different ways.

The dealership in Dallas said NO, not software upgradeable.

The dealership in Austin says they will have to wait and see. They interpret the note as not being able to add the "phone integration" to the car not necessarily the software. They are also stating that the Iphone 4 "Media" cradle that is coming out soon, will provide that functionality. Cars not ordered with Phone integration prior to March cant get it. Cars March and after, get phone integration standard....thus the "no retrofit" comment.

Seriously don't know. It would seem BMW could provide a straight fwd answer on SOFTWARE upgrade or not.

Update: Dealer went $9K off of MSRP, i informed him that other dealers are going $10K off with an additional $1K to help move the cars. I really don't know why they are being idiots with this deal. This has turned into a customer satisfaction issue and I am very dissatisfied. I don't know if Survey are important to BMW dealerships (I know they are at other car companies) but they are well on their way to getting ripped in a survey.

We will see what they come back with for an offer today. I would like to get the 2011 because 1: it will be here around Mar 9th, 2: No way I can get a 12 for what I think I can get this 11 at, and 3: There are no major changes to the car.

I could care less about Twitter or Facebook being in my car (watch accident rates go way up) but I would like to have the increased functionality of my ipod/iphone inside the idrive system as well as other functionality that may come out later. BMW Austin couldn't even tell me if I could control music via voice commands on the 11. I have to go by there today and figure it our for myself.

It sounds like BMW apps are not possible for pre March 2012 cars.....but I am wondering if the new Iphone 4 cradle (the one with Data on it) will provide some of the functionality that I am looking for?

As a comparison, my 2011 Ford F-250 Diesel had more voice command functionality / Iphone/ Ipod functionality than a $100K Luxury car....something wrong with that picture eh??

this has been much too painful, thanks to everyone for the advice and help.

How generous of them to knock another 3k off of the price that they couldn't lower!

Looks like they are still keeping at least 6k for themselves at that price.

I would take the 2011 model as well given the pricing and lack of change to the 2012s.

Good luck!

BTW, I got the $10k off when BMW was offering $2500 cash back for the holidays...they are offering $3500 now so you really should aim for $11k off. That being said....it was also last week of December, they may have wanted to move the car before the end of the year as some incentive.

I got just over $11K off and they gave me a car to drive until mine comes in.

Not bad, I'm pretty happy over the price but it shouldn't have been this painful

WHAT!? Why would they do that? Where is this dealer located? Are they THAT desperate?

Dealers by me need every single spare car they have to use as service loaners...
