Me as well but I can run my lazy ass out and push start with key in pocket then lock the car and keep key in hand..... So it would just be for the connivence of not running outside.

I was really just wanting to be able to start my car when getting ready to leave work and have it warmed up. I don't know though with all of the 7's electronics if it doable? I searched and did not see a discussion on this. Others in colder climates must have been wondering this also.

I'm surprised there wasn't a remote starter for the 7 in the first place (OEM or aftermarket). Mid-city Engineering has had one for Mercs forever!

One cookie to the person who finds it

Yes couldn't agree more that option one of the few options missing from the 7.
Maybe BMW figures all of their cars in a garage and no need......
If any remote start available please post.

Between having a heated garage at home and work and having heated seats, I never had the need. My guess is an aftermarket option would fck something up.

That's the main concern I don't want any1 to mess with the wires I've even learned to live with the radar detector wire going to the 12V even tho ppl hardwire that stuff and have no problems. So BMW doesn't really have anything like that?

yup yup...I think there is a range to it, but I have never tested that. I don't know if it was an option or not, but mine has a function that if set will pre-cool the car in the summer at 2 pre-determined times. So if you take lunch break at 1200, you set it for 1145 or something and when you come out to your car at 1200 it will be cooled down. Yet another function I have not tried yet....
