I don't think they have gotten clear of CA emissions on the 40D in the US yet. Someone else in the know might be able to chime in here...

On the next gen-X5, I would hope they'd come in with the 40d, 8 speed tranny and M sport pack!!!!!

BMW apps cannot be retrofited in 2011 cars at this time.

The 2012 has a lot more standard features. In your next post you mention using $2500 in addition to the $3500 Eco credit. Is your dealer offering an additional $2500?
No, we didn't have either $2500 holiday credit or 0.9%; We only started to look X5 in the mid of Jan, we missed that train.

Waiting to see if Eco credit still exists. March 1 is finally here. Any updates on the diesel credit?

I placed an order & deposit last night (into the dealer's order bank) with 2011 specs, but the CA said until they find out the financing #s from BMWNA and model year change over details, I'll be on a holding pattern in the order bank as far as finalizing the $ amt and options. Haven't heard anything about the credit either, so I'm on a prayer for now.

I am waiting to hear about the eco credit as well. I am ready to pull the trigger and order a 2011 (found a dealer with production allocation).

Sorry to jump in here, but does anyone know if any new/different exterior colors are available on 2012 models. I am debating 35i or 35d.
Thanks,

Dave

Just called dealers, they said the same amount of eco credit is extended.

However, it's still not clear whether diesel stays as 2011 or not. However, another dealer is positive that diesel will remain 2011 until Oct. Don't know who is right. They may get clarification end of this week.

Just spoke to the dealer as well and confirmed that the eco credit has been extended. However, 2012 production will start on April 1 regardless of pawertrain (this is what the CA said). The only way to order a 2011 before the price goes up $4,500 is to find a dealer that has remaining production allocation for 2011's. I am ordering mine from Prestige BMW on saturday morning.

2012 $4500 more?

Just checking your numbers as to how the 2012 is going up $4500?

Also, has anyone let you know if you can retrofit the BMW apps coming out on X5's in April 2012 series to the 2011 x5's.....it would be nice to update the apps package in a 2011 production model.....

I believe it referring to the base price of diesel between 2012 and 2011: 56300 vs 51800

Seriously to all you debating 2011 vs 2012, difference in book value btw years is at least $3500 for just having the 2012 sticker on it if nothing else. It should be a no brainer at this point, get a 2012!

For those of us with 2011s any info on corona upgrade possibilities from the factory would be most appreciated.

I cannot comment on the Ecco Credit because I am buying my X5 from military sales here in Germany, but, I previously posted the same about the 2012 35d remaining a 2011 until Oct. My salesman even showed me the bulletin from BMW stating the same. They have emailed Munich in hopes of finding out what the heck is going on. So I guess there is some confusion.

With that said, I am a little skeptical, why would they come out with MY2012 pricing for the 35d, especially considering for myself, I would get more features and my price would decrease $750. Take into account resale on 2012 versus 2011 and it is more.

Regardless, I want the 2012, especially since my 2011 wouldn't be delivered until June and I am away beginning the end of June - Sep. It will be a nice suprise when I get back, if that is the case.

never. JSpira works for bmw and regularly patrols the site to ensure that information doesn't stay posted...

It was posted for the 2010 MY, and I've seen it for other models too... why the change?

(edit) here's the 2010 E60 invoice prices.... been up online for a while... http://www.bimmerfest.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=377273
Heck, there used to be sticky threads with them in. It isn't like it is really confidential, Edmunds lists the invoice prices.... it is pretty helpful for the prospective purchaser to check the math on invoice+$X deals, especially for the invoice price of options, which take forever to accurately show up on Edmunds.

No. But BMW has lots of attorneys on retainer. When a little weasel rats out this site for posting invoice prices, said attorneys make the site take said prices down.

This (hypothetical) weasel may have been an okay guy once. Now he's a self-aggrandizing lapdog lackey.

Another great example of where BMW has lost the plot. That information is something that helps me buy one of their cars more easily....

Well, whatever, it will get out on the net eventually.

Local dealer just confirmed that the 2012 X5 diesel will not start production until October. Could not tell me if it will change from 35d to 40d & or to the 8-soeed transmission.

All diesels will be 2011 models until October.
