Will this spoiler from ebay not look like ****?
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...K%3AMEWAX%3AIT
That's the spoiler in question. And this is what I want my M3 to look like (except you know, not filthy) ![]() Can I trust shady ebay to sell me a solid, good looking spoiler? |

Looks like a decent copy of the factory spoiler. I wouldn't get my hopes up about the color matching perfectly. They haven't seen your car, and there are at least 2 color formulas for Daytona Violet pearl... There's no way to know what you have without matching your car to the color standards. Maybe you'll get lucky, No matter what, it will be close. (either very close or redder and darker than your car)
If you do get it, make sure they send you the drilling template, and the mounting kit. And yes, you need to drill 4 holes in your trunk lid, very close to the edge. measure 3 times, drill once. Prime and paint the rough holes you just drilled, and use some silicone sealer under the screw heads.

Thank you! Thats exactly the type of info I was looking for. With your advice I decided to look for an OEM one on craigslist and have my body shop repaint it. Looks like I found an artic silver for around 150. Waiting for the guy to email me back.

The only "bad" thing about that is you won't be getting the mounting kit. (die cut double sided sticky gasket, mounting template, and the pointy bits that you use to mark the trunk for drilling) Not even sure it's available from the dealer. But a body shop should be able to handle it.
