Car was delivered after Phase 1 completed...
The untrained eye will not notice the mirror covers or the roof extention. Waiting on bonnet to arrive. Phase 2 will be easy, so will Phase 3. The hard phases will be 4 (body kit, exhaust, etc) and 5 (interior, pedals, etc).

I'm not feeling it. None of the Phase 1 or Phase 2 enhancements make the car accelerate faster, brake shorter, or handle better. Despite the debadge, the exhaust tips proclaim "3.0". As do the base wheels. I can't help but think you could have traded the '09 in for a 2011 with the M sport kit, for about the same cost. Which would have given you a lot more power, better electronics, a longer warranty, and a lot better resale.
Sorry.

Agreed, all the Lumma parts and the labor combined (just the 2 eyebrows cost something like $400 a piece, if I'm not mistaken).......... Might as well trade it in and for the $$$ you can even be looking at the X5M.
This is worse than the dude who slaps on a 750iL badge on an Accord. Maybe not as bad, but I do appreciate your persistence, however meaningless it seems to others.

Believe me, I contemplated trading it in, but whatever I get will still be STOCK. And the only things I'd consider trading it in for is the Audi Q7 (I'll slap on a ABT kit) or the X6 (I'd slap on the Hamaan kit). But that would only make the cost be about $35K more than what it is now. The things you are mentioning are things that are important to YOU, not me.

Far as the X5M; I'm not interested. I'm not interested in all that horsepower under my foot. If it were, I'd drive the big V8, or I'd get a muscle car or sports car, or luxury/sports car ... and I just might do that sometime, but that's not important to me. Eyebrows aren't $400 a piece. I'm not too worried about the cost, I just want something DIFFERENT than what I'm seeing each and every day - no one is customizing thier X5 in Florida, and there are TONS of BMW's in S. Florida. Mines stands out and there is mad love for it. Either way, I'll keep posting. Some will love it, some will hate it. Me? I like it ... and that's what is most important. I'm not interested in OEM and other stock BMW stuff. None of that is unique or special and all I see in these forums is someone doing something only for another reader to post a picture of thier own car that looks exactly like the original poster. They look EXACTLY the same. That is not unique and it's boring in my book - not interested. NO ONE in America has an X5 that looks like mine, and when I'm done with the mods, NO ONE in America will have my complete look - Lumma and SF said so. So, I'm going ahead with this project until it's completed. Even Doral Collision Center and Exclusive Motoring in Miami said that the simply mods to my car made it look "badass". lol And I'm a long way from done. We're still family, cause we're all BMW fanatics. I celebrate everything that is BMW.

Should have done wheels first. Bodykit with stock wheels just seems weak.

Kit is easy, but I'm having a heck of a time trying to decide on wheels, so for ME, the best thing is to do the wheels last, or 2nd last. Either way, I've narrowed it down to three choices (I hope): Asanti CX 502 BMW OEM (blacked out but with aluminum face) Lumma Racing 1

Just ordered...
Lumma Design roundel logo - (rear emblem)
Lumma Design BMW X5 E70 CUSTOM SET FLOOR MATS (4) - jet black, Lumma badge, beige trim surround Lumma Design BMW X5 E70 ALUMINUM PEDAL SET (A/T) - gas & brake (dead pedal doesn't cover entire thing, so I'm waiting on new model) Lumma Design BMW X5 DOOR ENTRANCE IN ALUMINUM Just order those things tonight. Will order the bonnet (plus front emblem) end of next week. Phase 2 (bonnet, white angel eyes, body color door guards ... and I can't remember what else) will begin soon as the hood arrives.

I actually like the silver trim enhancements (rails and window trim) - the mirrors are different though. I'm not usually one for visual changes to a stock vehicle, but I prefer the silver satin over the high gloss black. The roof rails look like BMW "M" rails - but run ~$500 for OEM stuff if I remember right - and it's not worth having to drop the liner for me.
I do have to say that I would prefer a newer body style over enhancements - I think you're going for the "tuner" or more "individual" look; to each his own

ROOF RAILS. Well, some will say that I put "M" rails on. That is and isn't true. Lumma had the flat roof rails BEFORE THE X5 M EXISTED. Having those flat rails was part of the project when I purchased the car in January 2009. Now that an X5M exist, they have flat rails ... and Lumma has discontinued the roof rails. So, did I slap a "M" part on my car? It wasn't my plan, but I had to in order to stick to the project plan ... thanks to Lumma dropping the flat roof railings from thier line-up. Definately going for an individual look. Too many BMW's on Florida roads. Had I known, I would not have gotten the X5 and would have went with the Jaguar Xf or Audi Q7 instead (I ordered teh car before moving to Florida).

No, not yet. I fought with Lumma to get better mats ... AND WON! They will send new mats with bonnet. Still waiting on bonnet. Once it comes in, ill complete the next phase.
Think ill go with the X5M/X6M Hamaan wheels (concave) instead of the Lumma. On a contract for a house right now, so that is a priority above this project. I may stop at the wheels (after bonnet). Can't tell for sure yet. Besides, I'm looking at getting an additional car as well.

Bonnet is here...
... after 3 months of waiting, and phase 2 can finally begin ... uh, sometime after i close on my home next month. :-)
entrance borders will be redone to how I want them to be. Right now, they are darker than the gas/brake pedals. I love the new mats. Lumma sent them to me for free because I did not like previous mats. I have rear emblem already, but can't find front emblem in this shipment. Already have my LUX v3 installed. Just need the white fog lights. Will get the door guards when I take car into shop. Only thing I'm missing right now it the front emblem... Really, once I slap wheels on, the car will look sick. May not even need the body kit (was going to convert to a show car, but I doubt that is going to happen now).

all squared away with house ... but furnishing it is a BASTARD!
anyway, need white fogs and bulbs to match the white angel eyes. Think I have some ideas. still undecided on if I want clear or blacked-out reflectors for the front. wouldn't matter if I slap a kit on it anyway as they will be covered over. Once I have these things, I'll get bonnet out of storage and take everything to RM Elite Customs and wrap up Phase 2.
