Oyster leather. too light?

I am currently looking at a 528i with oyster leather. Its The car is graphite metallic. I'm just a little worried that the interior is too light.

It has everything else we are looking for and is a January build.

Premium 1 & 2
Connivence pkg
Sport pkg
Xenon headlights

it is probably the only one in So Ca just now with all of these options. Now I can wait a little while for the car, but dealers that I have emailed are telling me that they are not getting any cars in with Conivence pkg or comfort access. Would I be better off ordering the car?

Too light in what regard, dirt?

I have Oyster leather and two kids. So far so good....

I've got the Oyster/Black also. I think it fells and looks more luxurious than any other color. The contrast between the Oyster seats and the black carpet/trim really sets it off. I've got a F10 loaner right now with solid Black interior and I don't think it looks as near as luxurious as mine. Can't wait to get mine back. I haven't had problems with it showing dirt as of yet. I'm sure it will take a little more time for cleaning but it is well worth it.

It just boils down to personal preference.

Exactly, I'm worried about keeping it clean. It's just the two of us now, no kids and no animals would set foot in the car. Should we be worried about keeping it clean?

I currently have 3 dealers trying to sell me this car. It is really interesting to look at the different prices that I am offered on the same vehicle.

Oyster is my favorite but I chickened out and ordered Cinnamon. My wife has sand brown in her X5 and jeans do rub off, it's not hard to clean off but it does require some maintenance. Although I rarely wear jeans I have a black interior in my current car and have been spoiled by the virtual zero maintenance.

The best quote I am getting is $500 over invoice, $54030. Is this a good price?

Don't worry about keeping it clean as long as you make the commitment to clean it every other week. If that's what you want, go for it!

I have oyster/black with Anthracite and dark graphite -- stunning. No problems with light color as far as dirt or staining. However I did have a dealer-installed interior protective treatment (Ibex) that has kept it looking like delivery-day after almost 10,000 miles.

$500 over invoice is pretty decent. Not the best gotten but pretty good considering no incentives.

We have Oyster/Black in our 2011, delivered in November. Two teenage kids, lots of ski trips in this crappy New England winter, haven't cleaned it once, and it still looks great. My wife's Sand Beige interior seems to look dirty quicker.

I hear stories of folks with designer jeans having the dye stain the seats, but we're a Levi's family and have not had an issue. However we are really really careful not to spill coffee or hot chocolate on the seats.....

That worries me as I do wear designer jeans. They do kind of go along with the car you know....expensive car, designer jeans......What can I say, I'm spoiled and wouldn't have it any other way!
I don't drink coffee in my car, just Diet Coke!!

Soda stains way worse than coffee..

Matter of choice. I love the black Nappa leather.

My Special High Performance German Anti-Theft System requires 2/3 of the back seat.
I take frequent road trips and I rarely go without the security afforded by this device.
The white leather is easy to clean.

I also have Dark Graph Met with Oyster/Black. I really like the combo and the contrast of Oyster/Black, as others have stated, is appealing (anthracite headliner makes a big difference with this combo).

I was told that washing a new pair of jeans should eliminate most issue regarding dye. I have 12K+ miles and the seats still look new. I should note that my kids don't ride is this car and I use another vehicle for dirty jobs. Ventilated seats wouldn't be as easy to clean but it doesn't look like you're selecting that option. Good luck!

+1. I'm on my 2nd Cinnamon interior. Previously I almost always chose a light beige interior, and didn't have too much trouble keeping it new looking. As some other people mentioned, it just takes a commitment to keep up with the soil level so it doesn't build up. I've found that jean dye is pretty easy to get off if it doesn't build up -- it came right off of my beige seats. All that said though, I cleaned my Cinnamon 335i interior maybe three times over 3 years and although I thought Oyster/Black looked great, I went for Cinnamon again in my 535i. I agree, go for the Oyster if you really like the car -- good luck with it!

Oyster/Black is pretty easy to keep clean and IMO it looks real classy . . . for your designer jeans and all

$500 over invoice is the average going rate so pretty much any dealer will give you that - just pick the one you like the best and offer to buy the car at that price. Beware of MACO and training fees - sometimes the quote includes these and sometimes it doesn't so compare apples to apples.

ordered space grey/oyster/ black. Was concerned but good to hear that's it's not that big a maintenance issue. Any protective treatment which I can do.
