Wink Vunderbar! New 535xi

Ladies and Gentlemen,

After years of anticipation, today I accepted delivery of my 535xi. I am overwhelmed by the performance, features and outright beauty of this car. Although I'm transitioning from an '04 ///M3, it is the finest automobile I have been exposed to. Picked it up with 6 miles on the OD and drove 41 today. I will post more detailed reviews and photos as the adventure continues. Within two hours, I literally had 3 different people flag me on the road to ask about the car and compliment it.

I've been reading these forums over the past few months and I sincerely appreciate the criticism, perspectives and recommendations of all contributors. They've challenged my assumptions and guided my decisions. I'd especially like to thank TJ Park 01, Needsdecaf, Slaymaster, JZCRNA, Sanguru, Laser, tdepetra, markl53, 1HOTBMR, B-1 Pilot, Rafa, HiYo, Quackbury, BMW Architect, BimmerUKF10, Batman75 and Vortexx.

For the top issues of discussion, I have no nav "dot," no steering issues (yet) and minimal reflection/visibility issues with the HUD box (shades or no shades on).

Also, I opted for the BMW tire/wheel insurance...seems like the best option with the run-flat tires and risk of damage. The dealership has some latitude with the price...ask for the 5 year plan at the 3 year plan cost!

Best regards,

jc

Looks awesome. Your post might have convinced me to get an X-drive. Does anyone know if the ride height is the same as the regular 535i?

Congrats! That's an awesome looking MSport F10, and the options list leaves nothing to be desired. Enjoy your car to the max, and keep us posted as you get to know it.

Congratulations. I just crossed 700 miles after a week and a half. You don't feel miles going by in the ride we picked. Enjoy your wheels and keep the epic posts coming.

I have been snubbed by The Academy!!!

The first mentioned top issue of discussion is "the dot" and the creator of "the dot thread" (me) did not even get an honorable mention!!!

An honest mistake (oversight), I'm sure.

So you're the guy that has kept us awake reading hundreds of posts in the most popular thread in recorded history?

For better or worse, I must admit that one of the first things that I noticed when I accepted delivery of my new F10 was a strange looking mark on the dashboard and I immediately pointed it out to my CA. Since nobody could figure out for sure what it was, the dot thread was born in an attempt to end the mystery. The last time I checked, the dot thread was number 9 most viewed.

I noticed the dot once while cleaning my car and was intrigued by it, but did not give it another though afterwards. Thank G_d for inquiring minds such as yours; we now have a very plausible theory as to the function of the dot.

By the way, isn't the dot thread the longest in recent times? Others may be longer, but none as of late if I am not mistaken.

Edit: Sorry about being off topic. I'll shut up about the dot on this thread now.
