Pull Ahead expires March 31?
I just got a mailer from BMW about my current lease, which expires Aug. 6. I have an order in for an ED in July, and was hoping to turn in my current car when I signed the new lease in June, which would cover my last two payments. (A friend has a "loaner" car for me to use while I am without a car.) I qualify for all of the requirements, including having a '07 or '08 model, lease ending before August 31, etc. However, it also states that the offer expires March 31, 2011. Is that for real, or will it be extended? If your lease ends in August, the earliest you can turn in your car with the Pull Ahead would be May! Or do I have to get the ball rolling and let them know I want to take advantage of the Pull Ahead by March 31? Thanks!

I received the same mailer and am pretty much in the same exact situation as you, just one month earlier. Want to do ED, lease ends mid June. Do we have to order a new car before 3/31/11 to take advantage of the offer, or do we actually have to take delivery of a new car and turn in our old one?

You need to turn in before 3/31/2011 and your ED lease deal sign before 3/31/2011.. so with lease ends in mid June, you will paying for a ED car which you haven't receive yet. So you are not coming ahead...

Perhaps it is something we can lock in for 90 days with our credit application, like finance or lease rates?

I'm not really sure how or why this deal exists? is it a "deal" anyway? Waiving 3 months of your "current" car and turning it in, is simply just ending your lease early.
Is this just a way to try and sell you the current 2011 models in march before 2012 start building? My lease ends in late july. I would think there will be better deals on 2011's when the 2012 start showing up on the lots. Am I missing something? Why turn in the car early right now? thanks

It means you have to ink the deal before March 31, not turn in your old car by March 31. I ordered an X3 with April delivery and my current lease ends in June. It is not a deal, it just lets you get a new car sooner. Basically to get people to buy an '11 now.

Are you sure about that? This would make me custom build a new 2012 instead of pulling one off the lot. Or even ED.
thanks.

Check with dealer. Of course the only 2012 available now is the 1 Series and I bet there is fine print....

The pull-ahead can't be locked in, it's only valid for contracts dated (and signed) on or before 3/31/11.

There is no point to this promotion other than to get you into a new car now vs. later. I was ready to get out of my 328i and get an X3 so it made sense for me. It probably won't for most people.

You can't lock in a pull-ahead. You must sign the contract for your new car and turn in your old car by the end of the program.

It can make a TON of sense if you are over mileage on your lease. If you are averaging 1,500 miles/month, returning the car 5 months early could save you $1,350 in excess mileage charges. And the current MF / AFR is a known quantity - no telling what it might be in August.

Depends. The center pulling your car ahead may charge you. Not necessarily.

Just got call back from dealer - M3 is included up to 3 months and they are willing to take care of the extra miles (case by case). BUT they told me ED does not qualify?!?!? I have to take a car off the lot. Anyone knows this for sure? I never gotten a letter on pull ahead...

Are the pull ahead mailers you guys are receiving coming from BMWFS or from the dealer? I have lease coming due in early June and didn't get one.

I recieved it from BMWFS but it said contact the dealer and had my dealer's name and address. You should just contact your dealer to check if you are eligible or not.
