Seat Belt Buckle Switch

Went to fix window regulator driver side. Disconnected the air bag. plugged the battery in w/o airbag connected. Got light. Purchased srs reset tool. Reset did not work. Now I have codes that are not related to the door airbag. Seat Belt Buckle Switch. Done so searching and reading. I am going to see if I can clean the buckle housing out today. Can the swtich itself just be changed? Went to realoem.com and they show the entire buckle housing as a part. Need advise. 2000 528i

Thanks, Jeff

What front driver door window regulator DIY were you following from the VERY best of E39 Links?

If you followed mine, let me know where I went wrong!

Have same code and can't reset it - it came back right away. Definitely need to change it but don't have time and place to work on my car... Part cost about $160 but it can't be sipped from places where I usually buy parts. Need to go with local stores or just leave it as is, will see. If you find quick and easy way to do or fix it please let us know.

Thanks!

Ended up cleaning the buckle latch out with canned air and contact cleaner. Reset the light and so far, so good!

To vetaldj: Try this, just lean the buckle back, tap lightly with something to lossen any stuff, a little shot of canned air, then contact cleaner, a little more air. I did this with the neg battery pole disconnected. Then connect battery then reset light

Good Luck

I had the same air bag code and it was only the plug.
