What movies of '04 are you looking forward to?

Well, the season is beginning for this year's batch of movies. What's coming that you're looking forward to seeing?

Here's a list of the few that I can think of:

The Incredibles - Pixar's license to print money has been renewed. Even if it's half as good as Toy Sory 2 or Monsters Inc. it will be worth seeing.

Kill Bill Vol 2. - I have yet to see a preview for this... but after seeing Vol 1, I just have to see the rest.

King Arthur - Looks like a great dark ages action fest. And it looks relatively "realistic" as well, with the Roman and Celtic influences... like there would have been at that time. And Clive Owen is King Arthur!

Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow - Just saw a preview for this yesterday. Holy cow! What a cool looking retro to the Silver Screen classics like the original Flash Gordon and other serials. The coolness factor alone makes me want to see this.

Wow! That's quite an extensive list. Seems much of it will be limited releases though. Perusing that... some more I want to see:

Twisted - For the life of my, I can't remember what this was... but the name sounds familiar, and I thought I wanted to see it.

Hidalgo - Looks like a good adventure.

Starsky & Hutch - Hopefully they can make this remake as successful as Charlie's Angels...

The Ladykillers - This looks hilarious! Gotta love the Cohen brothers.

Shaolin Soccer - Okay, gotta say I have a soft spot for goofy stuff like this.

Home on the Range - Is this the new Disney animated flick? If so... gotta see that.

Hellboy - Hopefully another good comic-to-movie conversion.

Alamo - Perhaps they can get the formula right on the history/war movie this time...

Punisher - Yet another comic-to-movie...

Van Hellsing - Looks cool, even though it takes some MAJOR liberties.

Troy - Okay, this looked spectacular in the previews I've seen.

Shrek 2 - Thought the first one was a blast.

The Day After Tomorrow - Is this the end-of-the-world global warming movie? Hard to tell with the limited previews I've seen, but looks cool from what I can tell.

Harry Potter - The first 2 were good, and faithful to the books.

Spiderman II - I liked the first one.

I, Robot - Interesting premise.. I'd like to see a preview.

Alien vs. Predator - If they do this right...

The Thunderbirds - I have fond memories of the show as a kid.

Blade: Trinity - Liked the first better than the second. Wonder how this one will be.

The Brothers Grimm - My wife is excited about this one...

Some things I didn't know were coming... another Mad Max!? Another Die Hard!? Oh, I hope they get the Hitchhiker's Guide right... Oh, and another Rush Hour? Hmmm.

I think that probably means they will be released sometime in 2004 with no firm date yet, or maybe just "in development".

Kill Bill 2? Fool me twice, shame on me - I'm not laying down another penny after the chaotic drek that was Kill Bill 1. And this is from someone who loved Pulp Fiction, Reservior Dogs, and Jackie Brown.

Hidalgo - Sure.

Van Helsing - It will have no plot and cheesy dialog, but Hugh Jackman will show his chest frequently.

Shrek 2 - Aw yeah.

Prisoner of Azkaban - This was the most chaotic and least enjoyable of the books for me, but the movie versions they've been doing are so good...

Spider-Man II - I was pleasantly surprised by Spider-Man. I'll give it a shot.

Good-Bye, Lenin! - It looks great.

Kill Bill Vol. 2, Troy, Barber Shop 2, Catwoman (Halle Barry ), Osama and The Return interest me. I'd watch any of those movies if they're directed by Almodovar also...

Yeah, I know... I guess they didn't have a big distribution. I only know about it because of the golden globes. Oh well.. Thankfully, it'll be available this year.
