E34 Style 5 17x8 Question.

Do any of you fellow E34'er run on some BMW BBS STYLE 5 wheels 17x8 all around? If so could you answer the following questions please?

What are your suspension set up?
Tire size are you running on?
Any spaces being used?
Is fender rolling needed?

Aslo for any of you 540i owners what suspension do you run on? I'm still not sure which suspension to use to get the most drop in the front.

Not running BBS style 5's but I'm running Mille Miglia 17x8.5's

-Suspension is Bilstein sports with vogtland springs. (about .5" lower in back and 2" lower in front after settling)
-Tires are 235/45/17 Falken Ziex 512's (all seasons which are narrower than the previous setup: Falken Fk-452's in 235/45/17 also but summer tires)
-No spacers at all but the offset is ET 15 all around
-No fender rolling needed at this ride height and they don't scrub at all at the moment but if I go any lower (which I plan to in the future) or if I ran a wider tire in the rear (which I also plan to) I would need to roll them some.

As for which suspension to use I really love the Billie/vogtland setup and the front end definitely settled down quite nicely. Before I put on the falken all seasons it looked really flush with the fender but since the all seasons run a little narrower than the summer tires, the little bit of stretch makes it not look as low. Just went and snapped a pic:

And this one was a few weeks ago to get the overall look:

And strangely enough I have had my suspension on for exactly a year today. Haha. Ironic?

i had style 5 in the e34 in the beginning of it's life with me. Was running stock suspension with no rolled fenders and looked decent. tire size i will have to check tomorrow because they are in the e24 now but here check it out

this front tire looks huge but somehow it didn't rub now the wheels have new tires and they are way smaller so they should fit great on the e34.

Thank you Mike for your input and suspension set up. Your car looks amazing in that stance.

Cager thanks for showing me pictures they really do help a lot in this thread. I just wasn't sure how they would look a stock E34 540i and stock suspension. They look great on them thats for sure no doubt about it. Please let me know what the tire sizes are. Cause I've got confirmed tire size for them but thats if I run on Billies and Vogtland set up. Which I will later when more funding comes along.

Thank you both for the help. Please if any of you have style 5 on your E34 share some inputs maybe can sticky this as the Style 5 thread.

Does anyone know what style BBS these are? The were on my touring when I bought it. Need to order a new center cap for one of them. They are OE size with 225/60-15 Not that it matters for a center cap...

Thanks... I can contact BBS of America, Inc. and shoot them a photo, they can get me the cap. The ones I have are definitely BBS but slightly different than the ones in your link. probably considered the same style though.

I would look for the caps on ebay instead. After all they are just caps. Idk how much BBS might charge you. My style 5's didn't come with any caps and I asked fellow bbs owners not to contact BBS cause they are like 40-50 bucks a piece. So I ended up looking for some on ebay bought two and will get the other two from my mechanic for a cheaper price. each piece was 15-20bucks. i saved 20.

Oh yeah. Very bad idea to buy caps from bbs direct unless you're looking for a really rare verson. Ebay is the best, and there are always several types listed there as well.

After you've got the new caps, lightly dust them with clearcoat spray for added front face protection. Do 5-7 coats. It is highly important that you only lightly dust them, anything more direct will lead to a thicker surface which will not look good at all. Only apply successive coats after the previous one is completely dry. Practice on some old bmw or other caps to perfect the technique. It is a little time consuming, but you get glossier caps, which are more resistant to scratches and damage of all kinds. And in future, you can just dust another layer of clearcoat over whenever the caps look like they need it - there will be no need to replace them.

Where'd you get those rims and how much did they cost?

Those rims show up on ebay just google BMW 17" and they usually show up as set. If not try bimmerforums or bimmerfest classified I've seen them a couple of times on there.

They are Mille Miglia MM-II's and I got them from a member on bimmerforums I believe. They were his winter wheels on his M5. Got them all for $350 shipped. Not sure exactly how much they normally go for on ebay and stuff. They are real Mille Miglias though and not replicas.

Found them. The rims I have are "Moda M1" wheels by BBS. I will try to find the center caps on Ebay now that BBS America has identified the rim for me. Worst case scenario, I will get the missing cap from BBS for 18 bucks...

Yup, nice price indeed! Gravik, there are plenty of wheel deals on Ebay. I was looking at some today in my search for caps.

I currently run 17" Style 5's with Dunlop Direzza Star Spec 235/45's with Turner 12.5mm spacers.

My suspension is currently Eibach Springs with Billies and M5 Sways.

No fender rolling or any rubbing issue.

These pics are a little old (no spacers).

yeah that's what i liked about the wheels, the fact that they wouldn't rub. Nice car BTW. How is the light output at night with those sprayed lenses? I've always liked that lip but with the roads here i doubt it would make it past a week

I looked yesterday and from what I found, once i got down to 400-450$~
it started to be just one wheel instead of all 4. No way I'm paying 400$ for a single wheel
